Spicy Beef Egusi- This is comfort food at its most robust. The melon seeds provide a rich, grainy texture that clings perfectly to the tender chunks of beef. The spice level here isn’t just “heat”; it’s a slow build that complements the savory richness of the palm oil and crayfish undertones. Every bite of the beef is infused with the soup’s earthy essence.
Spicy Chicken Egusi- A slightly lighter, though no less flavorful, alternative. The chicken absorbs the spices beautifully, offering a succulent contrast to the thick, textured sauce. If you prefer a protein that lets the nutty flavor of the melon seeds shine a bit more, the chicken is your go-to. Jollof Rice- This isn’t just a side; it’s a powerhouse. The rice is perfectly parboiled, stained a deep orange-red from a base of tomatoes, peppers, and onions. It carries a smoky “party rice” aroma that pairs surprisingly well with the richness of the Egusi.

Immy’s African Cuisine was absolutely amazing. The food was rich, authentic, and full of intriguing flavors that you don’t come across every day. You can truly taste the care and tradition behind each dish. If you’re looking to experience traditional African cuisine done right, this place is a must-visit.

Hands down amazing. This place has definitely shown me that you can’t perceive taste. My first experience in person and the food was divine. I love the Coconut Chicken Curry and Goat Curry. Each dish is simmered in a flavorful sauce that pairs heavenly with the fufu. The jollof rice was spiced perfectly. Definitely recommend.

Lovely restaurant featuring excellent Eastern African fare . The Samosas are excellent, both Egusis, the coconut curry, and the Fufu all very delicious. Uganda is famous for their plaintains, and her they are exceptional. Very friendly staff, quick service in a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended! They also have kiosks at festivals such as Bastille Days and Holiday Folk Fair.

Over priced for sure, $70 for mostly chicken parts. And not full pieces!!! Food is mostly spicy and not much flavor past that. Best item was red spicy beef. Jollof rice was average. Food comes as cups of stew/soup. I can get better value elsewhere. Unfortunate observation.

Use to be my favorite egusi spot, but lately their egusi is extra watery and no thickness to it. So I just have a bowl of water and beef. Happened to me twice in 2 weeks.

It’s a nice restaurant where you are served buffet style. I went there for the Fufu and Goat Curry. But I ended up adding the Coconut chicken curry, Jollof rice, and some Tropical juice. The goat curry, although edible, was not so good. The FuFu was a bit plain flavored and more like mashed potatoes. The Jollof rice was yummy. My favorite was the Coconut Chicken Curry. If you don’t like coconut like I do, no worries, the flavors blend really well so it’s not overpowering.
