The original New York J&P Pizza started in 1979 and the J&P were the initials of the original owners. New York J&P in Hampstead opened its doors in December 1983. Back then, the store was only 1,200 square feet in a small shopping center next to a video store and High’s. Eventually, the store expanded into the video store. A few years later High’s left and New York J&P took over the building and grew again. In 2004, a new shopping center was built around the restaurant in the Illiano Plaza. My friend picked up subs from here a few weeks ago for us to eat at her home. She got me a steak sub which had green pepper, onion, mushrooms, cheese and tomato sauce and though it was messy it was really delicious. The steak was packed into the sub and it was so big that it was hardly able to fit in my mouth. Somehow I managed to eat all of the sub in the fries that came along with it. This was a great meal with great food and I look forward to at some point in the future having another sub in the restaurant itself. Definitely recommended to take a visit here and try one of their steak subs you won’t regret it.
Came here for dinner after having carryout a few months earlier. My friend and I came for dinner we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table as it was really crowded. We were seated at a small table in a large room and our server came quickly to get us water and give us a little time to decide on our dinner. A few minutes after we put our order in and got some garlic and regular bread and waited for our meals to arrive. She got the lasagna which looked really good and I had the veal with shrimp over penne pasta. Since I only get veal when I go out to restaurants this was a treat. The veal was tender, the shrimp were big and delicious and the sauce over the pasta was outstanding.
Our server check with us regularly to make sure everything was okay and we were both too full for dessert.
After getting carryout and now eating in I can’t say enough about how good this restaurant is and I hope to come back in the near future.
Highly recommend a visit here but note that it will likely be crowded especially on a weekend evening.

First time going here as we are new in town. The lady at the counter who waited on me (Jacqueline) was very friendly and even gave me a military discount! Ordered a pizza pie and when I got home my wife opened it and it was LOADED with toppings. Taste was awesome, sauce was yummy and the pie was excellent! Will definitely be going back!

Everything was great. Our family had an excellent meal and the service was solid and friendly. 4 out of 5 on service because it took about 30 minutes to get our food. Everything was hot and fresh when it came out though. Overall a great experience!
We had pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, and an open face roast beef platter. All were great.

They offer complimentary garlic bread knots—just double-check to be sure. This restaurant feels like a warm, big Italian family; I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and now my own children enjoy it just as much. The best part? We’ll never let you or anyone leave hungry! My go-to order is the 18-inch pepperoni pizza special for $21—huge slices, a fresh salad with your favorite dressing, a cup, and a two-liter soda of your choice. This is hands down the best pizza place around! ❤️

It was hard to choose what to get with so many great options from pasta to sandwiches. Everyone left satisfied and full. Our server was great and food came out in decent time. I liked the setup of the restaurant and beautiful decor, as well as how there were different sections for dining in and takeout orders. They also had some of the cleanest restrooms I’ve ever used- I have never seen toilet seat sanitizer before, but they had it in each of the stalls. Greatly appreciated!

Absolutely the most disrespectful staff I’ve dealt with waitress gets loud tells our group if we don’t like the set up take it up with management so I do then all interactions from that point on was rude and was not accommodating none of our needs then put whole check as one told us we needed to do the math straight trash. waitress stood 15 feet away expecting us to keep repeating our order manager was horrible allowing head waitress to put separating check on us trash westminster location

Carryout Experience: the server was Megan who juggled online orders, phone orders, food pickup, as well taking my order and providing timely updates. I ordered dinner for my bride and myself. I do not remember her order except it was a seafood dish with mussels; I ordered the Seafood Medley. The food was excellent and portions were large.

A beautiful Fall day to enjoy a meal with my mom out on the patio. The pictures do not lie. We both were thrilled with our choices. Her steak sandwich was overflowing. We both took leftovers home. Consistently high quality.

Their location in westminster has better tasting food. The dinner we had in Hampstead location was completely devoid of flavor. Strange. Friendly staff, though.
