From high to low.. the space is beautifully done and sets the tone for what we thought would surely be a special meal, however, after 3 hours we had only received half of the 10 course meal. (30 mins waiting between each bite sized course). I’m happy to pay for a great meal (as I imagine most who come here are) but the food was sadly lacking in both flavor and depth.

I understand the restaurant business is hard and this felt like a difficult night for the kitchen, but after reading reviews (which I should have done before booking) It seems this might be commonplace.

I rarely leave reviews, and often reserve them for exceptionally good experiences as I know how hard running a restaurant is – but what we experienced tonight felt criminal, especially to anyone who might have saved up for a special experience, bday, or anniversary – save yourself the disappointment and an outrageous bill

From the moment you walk in, the first thing you notice is the huge open space of the restaurant, it’s visually impressive and immediately sets the tone.
I came here to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Here’s why:
1. Service truly top notch.
I was genuinely impressed. In my experience, the level of service here is on par with and honestly even surpasses places like Jean Georges and Brooklyn Chef’s Table. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism.
2. Ingredient presentation that creates identity.
They introduced the ingredients that define the character of the restaurant, explaining what each one was, how it would be used, and what we would be having throughout the night. That level of transparency and storytelling makes the experience feel thoughtful and unique.
3. Highly attentive servers.
The staff checked in with us during almost every course, making sure everything was perfect without ever feeling intrusive.
4. Exceptional storytelling through food.
The way each dish was explained its background, intention, and concept was simply wow. That’s how you create a connection that makes people want to return, just to learn more about the story behind the food.
5. Outstanding drink pairing.
I opted for the drink pairing, and it was incredibly well thought out. Each drink complemented the food perfectly.
If you enjoy drinking, I highly recommend getting the pairing it truly elevates the experience.

Overall, this was an experience unlike any other I’ve had.
Not just a meal, but a journey one that I won’t forget.

Service didn’t meet the expectation for a fine dining restaurant at this prics range. Sommelier is particularly rude and condescending as opposed to advising customers on picking the right drink for that pairs well with the tasting menu.

The food also has its flaws. It ranges from lack of flavor to too salty… Also, the doneness were off for a few dishes.

However, I do enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant and its interior design. The place is spacious and easy to have a good conversation with friends.

Came here on 10/17/25, service was amazing, dishes were to die for and drinks were amazing. Everything is so good and I definitely recommend coming here. If you come here please try the meringue angel foodcake, trout and cotton candy drink. FYI: THE WHOLE COURSE TAKES 2 TO 3 HOURS SO BE READY TO WAIT. In general though this restaurant is amazing!

Still sitting at the restaurant while writing this out of boredom. We sat down at 5:30 and now it is almost 9, we still have 1/3 of the dish not served yet.

Food is not good tasting. I feel like they just don’t know how to cook food to make them delicious, more like experimenting new ways to cook just for the sake of it. It is either too sour, or too raw, or too plain.

Serving speed is really slow. Prepare for a night of sitting around and waiting – they have severs and cooks rotate and serve so everybody is doing something they are not good at at some points of the night. Maybe that’s why.

Very expensive, too. We had the filed guide, pretty steep price even for find dining. But the worst taste and one of the worse services I have had. And I am usually accompanying my wife at these fine dining places so I had very little complains usually. But I felt strongly to write this (also bored just waiting). My wife passed on more than half of the dishes because she just couldn’t justify eating them after having a taste. And she is more than happy to eat the food I cook at home, and I am just a freaking regular guy.

Very not recommended. Save yourself the time and money and don’t bother coming.

Oh just before I am going to submit this review, they actually brought our bill- and we still have 3 dishes left!!!! What a joke

Finally satisfied a longing I’ve had to visit and dine with Ilis. Each day time someone dines with a restaurant is an opportunity to make their day. I’d say Ilis has done so for my entire gastronomical fall season

To quote the Michelin guide: The brainchild of Noma-alum (and co-founder) Mads Refslund and his business partner Will Douillet, Ilis seeks to elevate the dining experience through every touchpoint.

It has succeeded. In fact, I’d say beyond elevation and has shot for and reached the moon.

I’ve dreamed of visiting Noma, and so upon reading about Ilis’ opening, my curiosity was piqued. The experience is both dazzling and comforting. At times one can feel, as someone once put, little when experiencing fine dining. I brought my niece for late birthday celebrations, and I noted her wonder, surprise, but also ease in being there.

The dining experience was a like a symphony with rich segments, harmonies, and crescendos. When is the last time you found yourself unable to describe flavors of a dish? Or so compelled to simply sit in silence allowing all presence to go towards your taste buds. These are desperate attempts to put in words an indescribable feeling, brought to you by Ilis

Thank you to Breanna (forgive a potential misspelling), our gracious server; Ian, the exquisite sommelier with whom I shared a delicately profound reflection over a glass of cabernet franc; and of course Mads for the wonderful surprising creations

I went after seeing many photos online and the food looked incredibly appealing. The space itself is beautiful, and the open kitchen really sets the expectation for a great dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality was very disappointing and felt quite random.
We chose the tasting menu, which lasted around 3 hours. Many of the courses were raw, and it felt like they were trying too hard to experiment without a clear direction or a strong concept behind the dishes. There were 10 courses, yet we still left feeling oddly unsatisfied. It was that strange feeling of being “full,” but not truly satisfied.
Considering the extremely high price, the experience did not feel worth it. The service was great but I would not recommend going.

This is a magical spot. I’ve had dinner here twice, most recently for their Sunday Supper. The food was excellent across the board — in addition to the three courses included with the meal, we had the pearled barley with burrata and the bone marrow with mashed potatoes. The three of us couldn’t agree on what we loved the most. My personal favorites were the bone marrow and the chicken soup with cilantro and lime (would pay $$$$$ for that soup the next time I’m sick).

Don’t sleep on Ilis for a light dinner and drinks. Even if you’re not doing the full tasting menu, this place offers so much for you to try that you likely won’t find anywhere else. As someone who has sat at the bar many times, I’d say that the cocktails are on par with bars like Maison Premiere and Please Don’t Tell (all the drinks are excellent but don’t miss the Carajillo!). And the a la carte menu offers dishes that are consistently delicious and interesting. It’s a BEAUTIFUL restaurant that’s been meticulously crafted, and everyone who works here is really knowledgeable and friendly.

Always a great dining experience at ILIS. The space is stunning, the service is warm and seamless, and the dishes are creative and delicious. Every course felt thoughtful and exciting. The open kitchen vibe is definitely a bonus and adds to the ambience. Although it is not in the most convenient location, it’s definitely worth the trip. Highly recommend!

From the moment we stepped into ILIS, we were enveloped in an atmosphere that felt both innovative and warmly familiar. The open kitchen design allowed us to witness the seamless choreography of chefs preparing dishes with precision and passion.

A special mention must go to Samantha, who took extraordinary care of us throughout the evening. Her deep knowledge of the menu and genuine enthusiasm enhanced our dining experience immensely. She guided us through the selection of ingredients from the dynamic menus, ensuring each choice resonated with our preferences.

The concept of chefs serving the dishes they prepare added a personal touch that made each course feel intimate and thoughtfully crafted. The use of seasonal North American ingredients, combined with techniques like fermentation and open-fire cooking, resulted in flavors that were both bold and nuanced.

The ambiance, complemented by curated artwork and natural materials, created a dining environment that was both sophisticated and inviting. We had a great time just hanging out there.

In summary, our evening at ILIS was nothing short of exceptional. Samantha’s attentive service and the team’s collective dedication to their craft made for a memorable culinary journey. We eagerly anticipate our next visit.
