My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. We ate at II Verde which is a little bit on the pricier side, but well worth it. I had the pork chop with risotto., which was 100% The best pork chop i’ve ever had. The meats are ala cart. Which means all sides are additional cost, My wife had shrimp scampi and fresh mussels which she really enjoyed. They also have an amazing happy hour with great drink prices and smaller plates of food.

Reservations are recommended, if you go while it’s still light outside or during sunset, you can get a seat near the window, which overlooks the beach..

The bread was really good. The customer service was amazing in the restaurant, and at the bar. We first had our meal. Because our reservations were at 5 PM. As soon as they opened and then afterwards, we headed to the bar for a couple drinks and appetizers.During happy hour.. next time I would do the happy hour first and then enter the restaurant. I just wanted to make sure I had a window seat overlooking the beach..

Note: You can only enjoy the happy hour at the bar.

We have eaten here many times! We are in AC every month and this is our go to restaurant. Sorry to hear Margarita left, she was awesome.

Bill (william) is the best server every time. Order always right and he’s a ton of fun! He’s a gem!

Dinner is always excellent. We stopped in for Happy Hour and it was fantastic we tried the fresh calamari, brochetta ,jumbo shrimp cocktail all were excellent. The meatballs were incredible I am always disappointed when I order them out but not this time they were outstanding. We had delicious fresh oysters as well. They had a beet salad with gold and red fresh beets walnuts and bleu cheese and a vinegrette dressing that was delicious as well. They also have a chefs pasta choice. We had 2 outstanding desserts as well a pistachio cheesecake and an incredible apple crostada that had an amazing crust with crispy edges like a perfect pie crust filled with apples and topped with vanilla ice cream. Everything we tried was over the top excellent. We will be back for sure you can tell the chef takes great pride in his dishes each and every one better than the last.

I had an outstanding experience here and I cannot wait to go back !! It’s located in the Tropicana and has amazing views of the beach with a very peaceful atmosphere inside. I booked my reservation with my fiancee the day before in person with the hostess, who was really sweet and gave us a great table the next night! The food was absolutely incredible. We started with the fried calamari. It has been awhile since I had swordfish and it was so mouthwatering and filling. The dessert was extremely delectable, too. The chocolate cake was very high-quality, and the creme brûlée was the best I have ever had. And my girlfriend said the cheesecake was the best she’s ever had. Our server Mark was terrific and funny. A real good person. And Javier, the manager, could not go out of his way enough for us. I also noticed while eating that he spent a good amount of time with each table there interacting with everyone. We really enjoyed speaking with him just before we had our dessert. He is overall just a great guy, and you can easily tell he sincerely cared about meeting the dining needs of everyone there. Not only are both of us looking forward to going back and trying some new dishes, but we’re looking forward to speaking with all of them again. Definitely make it a point to stop there one night for dinner during your stay !! Photos below are by @danii.eatz on instagram

We read reviews and looked at pictures, we said hey why not. It exceeded expectations!! We enjoy food with real flavor and quality. The mushroom risotto was out of this world. Top 5 side dishes I’ve ever had! My husband loved his chicken parm and my double cut pork chop was perfect. Ricardo was our waiter and he was fabulous. We will absolutely be back and have already recommend to friends.

The Happy Hour is 5:00 to 8:00 PM. That’s right, 8:00 PM; you had me sold right there.
They have a nice little menu to choose from with one item being the pasta of the day
for only $15.00. The bar oozes class and the bartenders have excellent skills and personalities. Everything exceeded my expectations.

Il Verdi means “The Greens” in Italian, and their primary goal seems to be to separate you from your green…

I was SO excited to try this restaurant (it was the only new restaurant we made reservations for in advance of our trip), and they let me down completely.

The Service:
When we first arrived, we were a little early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar for a drink. The bartender was rude to the point that the hostess (who witnessed it) apologized to us… Still, people have bad days so we let this go. I’m not one to make a big deal about something until I’m really pushed to that point…

The hostess and our waiter were both exceptionally nice, professional, and attentive. So were the staff helping with the plates.

I’ll get to the food in a moment, but as far as the service is concerned, we were happy with everything until the bill came to the table.

They were surcharging our drinks (by double) for a “Rocks Upsell” despite the fact that the drinks were not straight on the rocks drinks, they were mixed drinks… When we questioned this, our waiter told us that “this is how they’re told to put things in”…?

Then the feature entree, that is clearly listed on our check as an $85 Entree Feature” had a price tag of $155…?? When we questioned this, the waiter told us “that’s how our computer system does things”…??

Neither seemed acceptable in the slightest to me, for obvious reasons, so I politely explained my issue and that we felt like we were being ripped off because the actual price of both of these items were listed clearly on the check before they added some mysterious surcharge.

Our waiter said that they couldn’t do anything to correct the overcharge and offered to have the manager come over and told us SHE would be right over. At this point I’m still expecting someone to notice and fix the mistake…

Instead, another man came over and started arguing with us and told us that the price is the price and we had to just pay it… Being confused, since that’s exactly what I was trying to do, and not appreciating the tact or the way Il Verdi does business, I had to argue that I was happy to pay the actual price, to which this man actually scoffed in my face…

Ultimately they corrected these overcharges after a lengthy, and unnecessary, debate in the dining room (after our argument and several internal meetings they made me wait through) and I paid the bill and left.

We never spoke with the actual manager.

I would NOT go back to IL Verdi and I would recommend that anyone that does really watch your bill for this type of shenanigans.

The Food:
As for the food… Separate from the service issues, we thought much of the food was OK.

The lobster in the Lobster Cocktail was overcooked, but had good flavor and the cocktail sauce had a nice zing.

The real standout was the Crostini Primavera, which was outstanding. Every topping was delicious and they all paired very well together. This is an antpasti that I would recommend to anyone. The only complaint I would have is that there wasn’t enough bread for the delicious toppings!

For dinner we had Lobster Ravioli, which was prepared well, but we felt the sauce was lacking something. I think this dish needed something to cut through the richness, and also more seasoning to the sauce itself.

The steak was well seasoned, but very heavily charred. If you like a lot of char on your steaks, you’ll probably love this, but it was a bit much for me.

The Location:
Il Verdi is in a great location at The Tropicana with a view of the ocean. The restaurant itself is decorated very nicely.

Good Italian place in the Tropicana resort. The bread they gave out to start was amazing with great butter and a roasted garlic olive oil dip. The burrata salad was not that great I have to say, the burrata was not very high quality. I had a few better burrata salads throughout Atlantic City. The Caesar salad was great, good dressing and fresh Parmesan. The gnocchi was fantastic, great vodka sauce. The Bronzino was out of this world, crispy skin and flaky inside. The risotto was also great. The spinach was ok nothing special. Service was great, Richard is a great server. Atmosphere is decent. The only bad part is we had to wait 30 min for a seat. They have a bar in the front. Highly recommend!!

This restaurant is definitely worth going to. Everything was amazing. We ordered the surf and turf, salmon, ravioli, cold antipasto, fried calamari and i had a lobster dish that wasn’t on the menu because my wife had the last surf and turf. Our waiter Jose was very good he was on point with our service, he was very friendly and attentive. This diner was probably the best we’ve had here. We will definitely be back. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Really nice dinner. My first time but my family has been to it before when it was in the old location. Really beautiful decor and scenery now in this new spot. Overlooked the beach and had really nice vibes inside. We split apps and dinner. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The broccoli rabe was extremely bitter. We couldn’t eat it. Maybe just a bad batch. Finished with mango gelato that was delectable and hit the spot.
