Very good food and big portions. The potato is so well done, crispy on the outside and mushy inside. Short rib was done very well too, tender inside and a bit of crisp out. The garnish is right on point. Will definitely come back again!

They are a bit short-stuffed though, but not too long of a wait for when I was there.

A very great atmosphere Italian restaurant in the downtown proper area. The pasta dishes were quite tasty, although nothing shocking. The bread was warm and went well with all the dishes. The staff recommended these three dishes and even brought the drinks on the house which was super sweet. The recommendations were great and the atmosphere felt intimate but was still busy and on the louder end. Glad I stopped in to try it out, but I won’t need to go again.

We decided to get a quick bite to eat as we did some Xmas shopping in downtown Pdx.

First the service was amazing. Our guy was both the bartender and our server. He was very personable, efficient, and quick witted and made our experience so much better

We kinda did a family style thing by sharing the Caesar salad, garlic focaccia (a little salty), and the meatballs. All very good. I think the meatballs were my favorite.

Then we finished off with some shrimp scampi.

It was cute and it really met our needs. Drop in sometime and check it out for yourself.

Italian restaurant associated with the hotel. The menu is relatively small, but the chef does well with classic Italian fare. The fish was seared perfectly, and all of the dishes were flavorful. The cocktails were well made, and the service was excellent and well paced.

We went to il Solito two mornings out of our four night stay at the Kimpton. Not only was the food delicious and very dry affordable, but the service was wonderful. Johnny visited with us both days and remembered us upon return! He also makes the best lattes in town – we even stopped by on a third day just to get some coffee to go.

Definitely give the French toast a try, the berry compote is incredible. The breakfast burrito and standard breakfast were both great. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or a local, this is a great casual spot that feels like home.

We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the experience went downhill from there. The food was disappointing — my eggs Benedict came with fully cooked yolks, and overall the quality felt subpar. Our server never came back to refill water or check on us, even after we finished eating. Several staff members walked past our table without stopping, and I eventually had to flag someone down after another 20 minutes just to get the check and more coffee. The place felt understaffed, and unfortunately it turned into a poor dining experience.

Nice place, we all had a good time. Service was good, pleasant atmosphere, nice murmur in the background. The negroni (had two) was yummy. Try the focaccia, so good, the hit of the table. I could eat a bunch of that with a ceasar salad and a glass of wine or whatever. I had lasagna, it was disappointing. All noodles, small sparse meat layer, little bit of home made ricotta, bechamel sauce on top, and an average tomato sauce on the bottom. The main drawback was that it was burned on the bottom and tasted burned (see photo) so I only ate the top of the slice, it was ok, but for $28.00 a la carte, I would not order lasagna there again. Everyone else liked their food. I would give 3.5 stars. Maybe next time I’ll order spaghetti and meatballs, it looked good.

It’s not what it used to be. It’s possible weekday nights may operate with limited staff and menu. In my humble opinion the food was slightly above average, the atmosphere was sad, only a few tables were used in the bar area, the main restaurant seating was not open and our servers were the bar tender and the host. Nothing wrong with saving on overhead, but they should know the menu better or at least be prepared to share that two items on the limited menu were not available. Hope owners/management can bring this place back around.

A restaurant that has changed names but not owners or quality of food. The menu reads Italian with a modern and innovative spin on dishes. This is a place to come to share dishes as it is hard to choose. Located on Broadway Downtown and easily accessible by all modes of transportation.

egg benedict is overcooked.I’m quite disappointed. The staffs are good but slow when checking the bill and paying. Please keep an eye on the customers. However, I will still go back to eat.
