We recently hosted a professional networking event at Il Sogno Italiano, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
The food was excellent—fresh, authentic, and consistently on point. Service was attentive, professional, and made our group feel genuinely well taken care of. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and perfect for both business and social gatherings.

Our guests were impressed, and the setting elevated the entire event. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue.

Highly recommend for team events, client dinners, or any occasion where you want great food and a top-tier atmosphere.

I want to thank the staff at Il Sogno Italiano because they turned our 15 Wedding Anniversary into an amazing celebration and experience. The music, the food and the service we received, was out of this world. Our waiter was perfect, not over attentive but the right amount of attention. The lamb was perfectly cooked and flavored. Lobster ravioli ridiculously delicious and the tiramisu was the perfect closing of the meal. We danced to the live music and had our own perfect world while we were there. We will definitely come back and recommend to our family and friends. Thank you so much!

Food was quite good, but not absolutely mind-blowing. I loved the focaccia and especially loved the bruschetta. The mushroom ravioli was also pretty good. But most of all the service was excellent. The waiters were all very fun and the singing captured the hearts of everyone at our table. It was very fun, and made for a more enjoyable meal. I’d definitely come back here.

Drawn in by the live music, we found il Sogno Italiano to be a simple but tasty choice.

The menu was limited, and seemed expensive for what was on offer – it has to be the most expensive bolognaise I’ve ever had.

That being said, it was a tasty dish, and there wasn’t a scrap left when I’d finished.

The restaurant was unfortunately deserted, which was a real shame for the life musicians that were playing. They were good, and added to what would have been a really quiet vibe.

Service was efficient and friendly, without ever really exceeding any expectations.

In summary, a tasty but expensive meal and therefore I’m not sure we’d come back.

I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Il Sogno Italiano! The food was outstanding—each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The entertainment was just as incredible; the opera singer added such a magical atmosphere to the evening. Our waitress, Jessica, was so attentive and friendly, making sure everything was perfect. Overall, I had a fantastic time, and I can’t recommend this place enough!

Absolutely amazing experience. Service was quick and friendly. Food was amazing across the board, from the drinks, to the appetizers, as well as the entrees. No idea how this place has such a comparatively low rating.

Il Sogno Italiano in San Diego is a classy, upscale Italian restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and plenty of seating for a comfortable dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was a hit!

As expected with a high-end spot, the prices are on the steeper side, but the quality justifies it. Service, however, could use some improvement — it was a bit slow and not as attentive as you’d expect at this level.

Parking can be a challenge in the area, so plan ahead if you’re driving. Overall, a great choice for a special night out or if you’re in the mood for some truly excellent Italian cuisine in a refined setting. 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had dinner here and the service was great. They had a few gluten free meals, so my boyfriend could eat there without any worries. The food was delicious and they had a singer plus a pianist playing live.

The garlic knots were hard as rocks. I tore up the roof of my mouth. The pasta was hard and it would have been nice if the waitress mentioned that the water was $6. For one person I spent $83. The Caesar salad was…okay. Skip this place.
