friends really recommended this place so i decided to try it out. we ordered a few dishes but i found all the pastas to be overly salty and the pasta was not fully cooked for my liking (chefs probably consider that al dente)
salsiccia (pizza) – my friend really like this pizza that consist of sausage and bell pepper, but it personally was not for me at all. dough was too wet and mushy, it just tasted like eating ground meat with peppers, 4/10
special of the day: mushroom chicken pasta – this was not bad but not great, chicken and mushroom works well together but the chicken was soooo dry and bland, but mushrooms saved it. did not like the pasta but sauce was alright, 6/10
papardelle funghi – decent dish, i really like all the mushroom flavour it’s quite strong but also very salty. i did not like the thick and long pasta shape, it was just very hard to share, 6.5/10
rigatoni vodka – probably my favourite of the night, i like the ratio of sauce, bacon and pasta. pasta was good, not too sour but also no wow factor
overall, personally i believe there are better places for similar foods, for cheaper. paid $170 for 4 dishes which is kinda crazy. going to this place for date night maybe is nice but personally not it for me. servers had good service and was attentive

We celebrated a family birthday at Il Postino and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Making the reservation online was very easy and convenient, and their team replied to our email inquiry promptly and professionally, which made planning smooth and stress-free.
We had an excellent dining experience, and the cozy private room arranged for us contributed greatly to the comfort and enjoyment of our celebration. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and charming, perfect for a special occasion without feeling overly formal.
The service was truly exceptional. The young lady (Melanie Sala) serving us tonight was the best of the best , warm, attentive, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. She offered great recommendations, checked in at the perfect moments, and made the entire experience feel personal and welcoming. We felt incredibly well taken care of throughout the evening.
The food was beautifully presented and full of rich, authentic Italian flavours. The price was very reasonable for the quality and portion we received, truly great value for the dishes served. The chef did a bravo job, and it was clear that every plate was prepared with care, skill, and passion.

Great spot for a date night. We visited Unionville in the winter and reserved through the website — very easy. The calamari was perfectly seasoned, and both the vodka rigatoni and the spicy shrimp pasta were rich, creamy, and delicious. The shrimp was slightly overcooked and the rigatoni could’ve used more pancetta, but the flavours were still excellent. Reasonably priced for the portions, great service, and we’d definitely return.

Such a hidden gem! Hands down, one of the best spots for Italian food in the area. The hospitality and service is incredible, you can truly tell they care about the quality and the experience they’re creating.
Starting with their complimentary bread, paired with real, high-quality olive oil – it was outstanding. You can taste the difference! Perfect spot for a date night right on Main Street Unionville! We went during the summer and the patio was such a nice place to enjoy dinner. We started with the Caesar salad and the Polpette (meatballs), and boy, were those meatballs good. They were well-seasoned, had the perfect firm-yet-soft texture, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. We used the fresh, fluffy bread to dip into the tomato sauce, which was a delight.
For mains, I highly recommend the mushroom and truffle pizza; it was super fragrant and cooked to perfection. We also tried their special at the time, the chicken pesto rigatoni. I was worried the chicken might be dry, but it was cooked just right, and the sauce was creamy without being too heavy. My only small complaint is that I would have loved a bit more protein in the pasta, but the flavor was spot on. Ended with the tiramisu which hit the spot. Definitely coming back!

Never have I ever had a more positive experience than I did last night at this beautiful restaurant. Myself, my two cousins and our spouses all got together for a long overdue dinner.The service was just unmatched. The atmosphere was fantastic. The specialty drinks that were on the menu for the night were phenomenal. The red wine we ordered with dinner was spectacular. The bread, the appetizers and then the meal were beyond delicious. Our entire table enjoyed dessert as well as after dinner lattes, cappuccinos and coffees as well. But really it was the feeling that we had while we were there. We were so incredibly well taken care of. It was the most enjoyable dining experience I’ve ever had in my life. I would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant in the picturesque area of Unionville to anyone! If I could give more than five stars I absolutely would!

The restaurant is quite small, but very cozy and warm! It was the perfect vibe for a cold, rainy, fall evening. We ordered the mozzarella caprese, the Tagliatelle Ragu, and the Pappardelle Funghi.
Our mozzarella caprese was served with the most crisp tomatoes, and went perfectly with the complimentary bread, and the pasta was hot and fresh! The food was delicious, and I will definitely be returning!
We were running a little late for our reservation because we had trouble finding the parking lot, but the staff were very accommodating and seated us right away. 10/10 for the service alone!

Love this place so much!! Out of all of the Italian restaurants I’ve been to, this is probably one of the best ones. I got the risotto and it was absolutely phenomenal omg. As a desert, I got the crème brûlée, a little plain but still fluffy. Wait was quite short, and the service was nice. I recommend!

I have to say if I’ve been in Markham my whole life and I’m surprised I never tried this place.
I would have to say this place is one of the best Italian places I ever tried in my life.
I have to say they’re are a little cheap as it was my birthday I thought they would give the dessert for free but they charged for the dessert it’s all good, let’s start of with the calamari, really crispy and tender in the inside expensive like crazy, for entree we ordered rigatoni vodka, papperdalle funghi, and chicken Parmesan, the rigatoni vodka was out of this world, very creamy pasta was cooked al dente and they make fresh pasta here, that’s a first, the vodka sauce tasted delicious had a rich tomatoe flavor but super creamy, the papperdalle funghi tasted amazing as well and the chicken Parmesan tasted amazing a billion times better than Sugo.
The service was excellent, the waiter was attentive, and the ambiance just seemed a bit claustrophobic as there wasn’t much space in the restaurant, if you want to eat here for dinner it is highly recommended to reserve online. Just if it’s your birthday don’t expect anything for free.

Had a lovely experience at Il Postino. The food was authentic, full of flavour, and beautifully prepared — true Italian comfort done right. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel very welcome, and the atmosphere was cosy and inviting.
