Our server Carmello went above and beyond. His professionalism and kindness didn’t go unnoticed especially with being very busy. Our food was brought out immediately, he was extremely accommodating with the complementary starter with bread as we don’t eat pork. Being my first time at Il Mulino, Carmello made it an experience I won’t forget. Food was fantastic, portions and were bigger than expected. I will definitely be back!

We were looking for a place to eat early and hadn’t managed to get any last minute reservations. Stopped to check their menu and decided it looked like a good option. I ordered the salad and also the Salmon main, my husband had the Branzino and a salad as well. The eggplant antipasto and focaccia offering they brought to the table to start us off was fantastic, the focaccia was so perfect it almost melted in your mouth and the antipasto was so delicious! Our salads and mains were to perfection, the Branzino according to my husband was the best he ever had in a restaurant. Staff were very friendly and attentive. If we were in the area longer we definitely would visit again for another meal!

Our party of 6 had a reservation and were brought to our table promptly. Bread and it’s accoutrements were brought out as soon as we sat. I had the veal chope which both servers said was the best item on the menu. My daughter had the pollo di scarpariello. Thankfully she let me try it. There were actual chunks of roasted garlic. The mushrooms are the best I’ve ever eaten. My sister had the raviolis and loved them. The restaurant expected 200 but had 400 plates that night. One of our dishes was delayed, but the manager came to our table and apologized. The food came out shortly thereafter. Well worth the wait.

Where do I begin? We had dinner Saturday and had such an amazing experience that we came back today for a celebration. Our server tonight was Carmelo. It was the most incredible, magical birthday celebration we have ever experienced . The appetizers, the wine recommendation, entrees, dessert – complete with wonderful singing. Wow!!! Often overlooked is the management. Pedro was equally incredible – again. Its’s amazing how much they care and go above and beyond to make the dining experience perfect. We will be back to Il Mulino every time we’re in this area.

My friends, wife, and I had dinner at Il Mulino last night. Overall had a nice time, minus the incredibly long wait for our food (you could hear who I’m assuming is the kitchen manager screaming out orders, it was like Kitchen Nightmares).

I ordered the chicken tortellini soup, which was a bowl of chicken stock and tortellini, nothing else. A bit in the simple side, but it wasn’t bland. I wouldn’t order it again, though. For my entree, I ordered the gnocchi in Bolognese sauce. The gnocchi were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was flavorful and had small bits of meat. My one complaint was that it didn’t have more meat, it almost felt like they forgot. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which looked like a cheese pizza with a fried breaded chicken cutlet. It also had the wing attached on the side, maybe an added bonus? Anyway, head’s up, this is not your American style restaurant where if you order chicken parm it comes with pasta. This was a la carte. My wife and I split the broccoli rabe, which was sauteed with olive oil and garlic. Simple but tasty. My wife also ordered the potatoes, which were baby potatoes pan fried with rosemary. Again, nothing fancy. My friends ordered meatballs, and the branzino. They both agreed their meals were tasty.

Our server was attentive, but we could tell he was either overloaded with tables, or just trying to get food out to the tables. We didn’t really interact with him too much, and when I dropped my forks on the floor, my wife gave me one of hers before our meal. I asked our server for a new set, he saw I had my wife’s salad fork and said “That’s why we give you two” and never remedied it. For what we paid, I’d expect a higher level of service.

The restaurant itself looks very elegant, classy yet not stuffy. It was a little loud near the bar area, but the area our table was at seemed to be less so.

Il Mulino New York Trattoria at the Walt Disney World Swan is a restaurant with plenty of potential but a few misses that made our experience more average than exceptional. The atmosphere is bustling — so much so that it felt hectic at times. The dining room was packed, and while that can add energy, it also made service slower and the space noticeably loud. To make things worse, the air conditioning was turned up so high that we were freezing for most of the meal, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the food.

That said, the food itself was good. We ordered the **calamari**, **Caprese salad**, and **spaghetti bolognese**, and all three dishes were flavorful and well prepared. The calamari was crisp without being greasy, the Caprese had fresh mozzarella and juicy tomatoes, and the bolognese sauce was rich and comforting — exactly what you’d hope for from a classic Italian pasta. Portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients stood out.

Unfortunately, the slow pacing of service took away from the meal. We waited quite a while between courses, and getting refills or extra bread was challenging with how busy the servers were. While our waiter was friendly and doing his best, the restaurant just seemed understaffed for the crowd that night.

Overall, Il Mulino delivered solid Italian food but lacked the warmth and polish that would make it worth a return visit. Between the freezing temperature, slow service, and noisy, chaotic environment, it was more of a 3-star experience than a 4. If you’re staying nearby and craving good pasta, it’s worth a try — but go in expecting good food, not a relaxing dining experience.

Il Mulino’s is truly an unforgettable Italian dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel like part of the family thanks to the incredible staff Pedro, Carmello, Connor, and Steven made us feel so welcome.
To start, the cheese and meat tray, mussels, and calamari were absolutely amazing bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. And whatever you do, don’t forget to order their famous bread basket! It’s a must.
Be sure to ask about the “Carmello Special” you won’t regret it. And of course, top off your dining experience with one of their delicious desserts.

The food is good…stop. Servers are unfriendly, the atmosphere looks ok but is noisy and feels a bit chaotic. This wouldn’t be that bad if it was a lower cost restaurant, but that’s not the case. Keep in mind it is not a character meet and greet…just a meal. A bit more attention to customer service and some sound absorption materials would help a lot.

From the moment we walked into Il Mulino New York Trattoria at the Swan Hotel the service made this experience truly unforgettable. The food was outstanding. It was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor, but what really set this Italian restaurant apart was the personalized attention from Carmelo, Pedro, Steven and the rest of the staff. Every recommendation felt thoughtful, every detail remembered, and we were made to feel like valued guests rather than just another table.

Carmelo went above and beyond to make the evening special, always checking up on us and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that elevated the entire meal. Amazing food is easy to find, but service like this is rare. We’ll absolutely be back and not just for the incredible dishes, but for people like Carmelo, Steven, and Pedro who made my family feel so well taken care of.

Extremely disappointed. We looked forward to coming here but definitely wouldn’t return. Nothing was impressive or worth it throughout our meal. The eggplant appetizer was ok but certainly should have been hotter. My Veal Parmigiana was alright but could use improvement, my wife’s Chicken Parmigiana was inedible. She tried a few parts of it and it was chewy, I decided to try it after her and my piece was chewy and had hard spots and the flavor was not good. How could a place like this mess up a simple dish like that so bad. We told the waiter how bad it was and the manager did come over which we appreciate. He tried to make it right but it was so bad we just said don’t worry about making it again. If it was just one thing we would let it go but obviously the whole meal was kinda a let down. At least the service was pretty good and the manager was trying but the food is just nothing special at all.
