First time here – loved it.

My wife and ate dinner at il Modo ahead of a concert at Bass Performance Hall.

We had a reservation and arrive about 5 pm on a Friday. We got seated right away.

Our server, Patrick was quite pleasant and helpful. We ordered cocktails then dinner as follows:

Cocktails
– Amalfi Spritz, non-alcoholic
– Woodford Old Fashioned

Dinner (we split all of this)
– Warm Sourdough bread loaf with a plate of Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar
– Dinner Salad
– Rigatoni Bolognese
– Meatballs side with Marinara

Dessert
– Coffee
– Cannoli (complimentary as birthday gift)

Not only would we eat here again, we just made reservations for 16-Nov. We’ll ask for Patrick as well.

I reserved for 2 and walked across the street from the Hilton. Greeted and sat right away with an awesome server and delicious fresh scratch kitchen food. The dessert was superb. The bread was perfect! See pics.

Husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. Great service and the food was delicious. The octopus was too notch, that was my favorite! Decently priced as well.

This was, without question, the worst customer service experience of my life.

The confrontation started the moment we spoke with the host, before we were even seated. We clearly explained that we had service dogs and provided proper documentation, including service dog cards. From that point on, we were treated poorly, with hostility and complete disrespect.

The manager was rude, dismissive, and careless, showing zero interest in resolving the situation or treating guests with basic human decency. Our server—Patrick, I believe—was abrupt, cold, and completely unprofessional. We heard how unwelcome my service dogs were from 3 different people.

The way they treated us was degrading, and completely unacceptable. Throughout the interaction, my service dogs were treated as if they were garbage, and there was a shocking lack of understanding—or respect—for the legal rights of guests with service animals.

I have never felt so humiliated or disrespected in a restaurant. The way my rights were handled was not just wrong, it was discriminatory. Service dogs are allowed to lay on my lap, and the staff made no effort to follow the law or show even basic courtesy.

What makes this even more disappointing is that the hotel itself is pet-friendly, yet there is a massive disconnect with the restaurant—despite the hotel owning it. That inconsistency reflects serious internal failures and a lack of proper staff training.

I do not recommend this restaurant at all. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcome, embarrassed, or degraded—especially for having service animals. This experience was beyond disappointing. It was unacceptable.

Until management is retrained and staff are properly educated on guest rights and basic professionalism, avoid this place entirely.

To response to the general manager.
Your team needs training in hospitality skills.
The way they delivered their request was hushed and it made us feel unwelcome for the first time in 10 years with my service animals. My main objective with this review is to warm other guest that if they want great service and hospitality especially being part of a hotel go somewhere else. This is not the right restaurant for you.

This is my husband and I’s favorite Italian restaurant and one of our favorite restaurants in Fort Worth in general. We have been here several times, and service and food are always phenomenal. The manager is caring and attentive. We love to share the Brussels sprouts and Tuscan potatoes, and the pork belly when they have it in season. I almost always get the capellini and it doesn’t disappoint. Great drinks too, and the tiramisu is so good! My husband doesn’t usually like tiramisu but he enjoys Il Modo’s tiramisu. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Really liked this place. The burratta was different but a good twist on a classic. I could have done without the sauce on the filet. The gnocchi was excellent and the flat breads were awesome.

Beautiful restaurant. Service was excellent. Made a reservation and was seated immediately. The waitress was extremely attentive and the pasta was amazing. It was fresh and flavorful. The bread was very fresh and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Ordered crème brûlée for dessert which was good, but not memorable. I would still highly recommend this restaurant!

My granddaughter is visiting and I wanted her to see some of Fort Worth so we walked around near Sundance Square. She wanted Italian and found il Modo in the Kimpton Harper hotel. It was a short walk down a lovely street.
Lunch on this Saturday wasn’t busy so we were seated right away. I tried the Aperol Spritz $11 and it was really nice. We shared some calamari $18 (not real tasty but not overly bland) and Meatballs $16 (larger than I expected and a little too much sauce, which is better than dry).
I loved the seating. I prefer to sit in a booth but my granddaughter grabbed it. My seat was so comfortable that I didn’t mind it a bit! We could see a bit of the street out the windows, really nice.
She ordered a margherita pizza $15 but it seemed each time she tried to pick up a slice, all the toppings came off, so it was a little clumsy to eat but she enjoyed the flavors.
We each enjoyed dessert – I had the cannoli $9. It was good and the fruit served with it was fresh. She ordered the creme brulee $10 and I had a taste – yum! The custard was lovely and the topping crusted perfectly.
I appreciate a little more attention when a restaurant isn’t busy and our server checked on us often. I believe even the manager passed by and asked how everything was. So I have to give this visit 5 stars – they checked all my boxes for good food, good service and a nice atmosphere. I live in Dallas, I need to check if we have an il Modo here!

CANNOT RECOMMEND. THIS IS YOUR WARNING.
My wife & I had dinner 2/21/26. We were staying at the Kimpton Harper, celebrating a wedding anniversary.
The dinner was terrible. The food was cheap & very much not fresh. Overpriced big time. And I’m trying hard to be kind here.
It’s clear the management seeks to fleece the tourist crowd because no local would visit more than once.
And shame on the Kimpton Harper for promoting this place. I’ll also never stay there again.

Anne-Marie was a wonderful host and server.

My friend ate there two nights in a row.

Tonight we enjoyed delicious wine, Zuppa di Lenticchie, bread, Balsamic Brussel Sprouts with guanciale, cipollini onion, balsamic vinaigrette, parmesan, and Pappardelle with wild mushrooms, sicilian sausage, mushroom-dijon velouté.

I wish we had room for dessert!

Generous portions. Great vibe. Located within the Kimpton.

We will return the next time we are in town!
