My husband and I went here for our anniversary, and I only have two regrets: I wish I had come here sooner, and I wish I could have eaten more. We started our meal with the burrata antipasto, which was delicious. We also had bread that tasted like it was made in-house—it was perfect paired with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
For our meals, I got the eggplant parmesan, and my husband got Chef Chris’s lasagna. Both dishes came out quickly and were expertly made. My eggplant was tender and flavorful, covered with a delicious marinara and the perfect amount of cheese. The lasagna was also topped with a flavorful marinara and had just the right amount of cheese. The meat in the lasagna was hand-ground, which gave it a fresh taste. I tried a bite of the lasagna too, and I loved it. Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert.
The ambiance and decor of the restaurant were gorgeous, and I loved the tableware. The staff was friendly and professional. The manager wished us a happy anniversary and offered us champagne to celebrate, which we gladly accepted. Our waitress, Quinn, was really sweet and took great care of us. I can’t wait to visit again!

My wife and I were looking to celebrate our 2 year anniversary; I looked on Reddit for recommendations for date night dinners. Il Faro was highly recommended! I never knew the place existed! I made a reservation, they accommodated a high chair for us so we could set our 2 month old babies car seat at our table. We were greeted with such happiness, it felt like walking into a friend’s house! They graciously gave us champagne to celebrate our anniversary and gave us bread to chow on while waiting for appetizers. They had just updated their menu to fall themed foods and everything we ate was remarkably delicious and tons of flavor!! The service was VERY polite and speedy. My wife was very satisfied with our anniversary meal, and Il Faro turned out to be a place we will be heading back to for more occasions – I have already been recommending it to friends!

First – the hospitality was by far the best. The owner is very present in many aspects for front of the house. Second – the food! No more needs to be said. Really enjoyed the experience. My drink was also top notch. Very creative menu of food & drinks – changes seasonally. Vegetarian & GF friendly.

This has been my favorite restaurant in the capital region for years! The appetizers, the entrees, the desserts, the wine, the cocktails: you cannot make a bad choice. Every single thing I have ever had here is fantastic. Not to mention how kind and wonderful the owners are. The atmosphere is perfect, and I always leave happy! Always the best experience!

First time there, cannot wait to go back. From being greeted at the bar for a delicious martini to our tiramisu to go, Il Faro is everything you could want from a local top tier – yet casual – restaurant. Simply put, I felt like I was eating from my grandmother’s kitchen.

Had dinner with three friends before the theater and we were very impressed by the welcome and especially by the food. So many tempting things on the menu. And so nice to see all the vegetarian and vegan options. All four of us loved what we ate. I started with a small plate of string bean caper salad with dill. Delicious. And the curried couscous sticky butternut squash was a delightful play of delicate flavors. My friends had the rigatoni bolognese and the fresh mozzarella chicken parmigiana and were equally impressed. We will definitely be coming back again.
