This place is very special to me.
I’ve been here many times and I’ve never left disappointed — I’ve loved every single visit.
From the moment you walk in, they make you feel at home, like part of the family.
The food is always delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and you can truly feel the effort, dedication, and love the chefs put into every dish.
The managers and the entire team always welcome guests with a smile and incredible kindness, making every visit a warm and genuine experience.
Everyone I’ve recommended this restaurant to has loved it, and that says everything.
Without a doubt, this is my favorite restaurant in NYC. For me, it’s not just a restaurant, it’s a home. Thank you to the whole team for so much care!!!✨

Another great meal! We always look forward to eating here. My husband had the Halibut putanesca special and I had my usual Rugatoni with sausage and mushrooms! Never disappoints. Navid, is a great manager and is so attentive. Pasta is amazing and you feel like your in your Nonnas kitchen! ❤️

One of the best Italian ever had. The seafood and ingredients were fresh and top notch. I especially love the fried calamari. Will def think of Il Brigante when it comes to Italian food.

Il Brigante is a fantastic Italian gem tucked away in the historic South Street Seaport. It’s the kind of place that feels both cozy and sophisticated, perfect for a night out. The food was absolutely delicious—I’m still thinking about the authentic flavors and quality of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, from the pasta to the perfect balance of spices in their sauces.

What really sealed the deal for me, though, were the cocktails. They were expertly crafted and paired beautifully with our meal, enhancing every bite. It’s clear the mixologists put a lot of thought into their creations. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is a huge part of the experience. The low lighting gives the place a warm, intimate feel, creating a true “vibe” that makes you want to linger and enjoy the evening.

The service was also top-notch, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that made us feel right at home. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a complete dining experience that transports you with its authentic food and captivating atmosphere. I would highly recommend Il Brigante to anyone looking for a memorable meal with great drinks in a truly special setting.

Great food and service but it’s kind of spoiled by how packed the place can get. At peak hours you will literally be elbow to elbow with guests at another table because the space is small. I think the whole place would be better served by dropping 20-25% of the tables and just up prices by whatever amount would offset the losses. The quality of the food and recipes would still ‘draw’ people!

The atmosphere and service are great, but the food is just okay. Great spot for casual drinks, wouldn’t recommend for dinner.

Absolutely loved this place! PERFECTION!

The pasta tasted incredibly authentic. It is my second time visiting this restaurant and will definitely come back when I visit nyc next time. The service was super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.

I especially adored the bread with balsamic and olive oil. The appetizer was fantastic too, super fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour.

I enjoyed everything from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back! ☺️

I was staying at the Fairfield Inn in the Fi-Di area and an employee their recommended this place for Italian food and it did not disappoint! The salad, and pastas we ordered and picked up was nothing short of great. Definitely my go to for Italian food in the city unless someone can prove otherwise, which will be hard to do! Pastas and salad was amazing.

BEWARE. This is NOT good food. Borderline inedible. The meatball appetizers tasted microwaved. My pasta was sub par at best and severely overcooked. The bolognese looked like jarred prego sauce. The service was pretty bad and they seemed bothered while we were there. The cheese they gave us to put on our pasta was downright disgusting. And the bread service was dry at best. For reference we are locals and were so excited to try this restaurant after living a couple blocks away for the last year and a half. So disappointed.

Busy, popular & usually packed on weekends but that didn’t stop me and my friend from enjoying the evening of her birthday. Food came fast and was well cooked. Staff was efficient & food was great in portions.
