So much choice here, and I love that a full third of the menu is vegetarian or vegan, it makes picking something genuinely fun. The sandwich options are absolutely delicious. I had the ‘Going Home for Thanksgiving’ and it was so tasty, packed with flavour and really satisfying. My husband went for the ‘Go Sharks’, and we both had ours on sourdough, which was perfect.
The dirty sauce is incredible, one of those things you instantly want more of. And the apple and caramel lollies at the end were such a lovely touch.
Great spot with brilliant food and loads of variety. I’m coming back before we leave Monterey.

I have loved Ikes sandwiches since my first taste a couple of years ago. Fresh, innovative and delicious…what’s more to like? This visit to the Monterey location was beyond exceptional exceptional. We were visiting with a group of students and ordered 35 sandwiches from Ikes on Door dash. After hitting the Pay button, we realized that the time for the order to be ready suddenly changed from 30 minutes to over 3 hours. We needed to hop back on a bus in 2 hours, so this was definitely not going to work for us. The Doordash bot was no help so we panic-called the store. Unbelievably, they had our HUGE order ready to go in an hour. And, all of the orders were correct! The hungry students were all full and happy! We were blown away by this feat of customer service. Ikes is truly the best. You have a customer for life, Ikes!

Pretty hyped up, even we thought it would be great with so many vegan vegetarian options, but the sandwiches were a little disappointing. We ordered 3 different types and not much taste difference in all.
Found it pretty expensive for a sandwich and not worth the money.
The sandwiches were soggy and tasteless.
Subways is way better and cheaper.
Would not go back again nor recommend.

Today I decided to order Ike’s for lunch and it was a good choice. I got a Reading Rainbow sandwich on sourdough and it was enormous. It’s a veggie sandwich with the red pesto sauce and I enjoyed it very much. Next time I would leave the dirty sauce off only because it didn’t need it. I did have them add pickles and peppers for zest too. A sprinkle of salt and pepper would take the sandwich to another level. They also have Stubborn soda and a fun variety of drinks if you go to the restaurant. Next time I think I might get one of their sides, like mozzarella sticks.

My go to is a 49er with fried chicken instead of the normal chicken it comes with. It’s the best! LOVE their sourdough as well. Always come here when I’m in the area!

I really like this sandwich shop, but I have to go with 3 stars due to consistency issues. My go-to order is the Pee Wee Sandwich (vegan), but it’s preparation is often inconsistent. Some days it comes out perfect, and other days it’s lacking sauce, certain veggies are omitted, etc. I still frequent this shop regardless because I appreciate their vegan options. In addition, ideally the “meat” portion could be a little larger. I usually order double “meat’ which then makes the sandwich feel more complete, but the overall cost of the sandwich is about $17. Overall, I would appreciate a larger “meat portion” but more importantly, more consistency/attention to detail.

They let me order a simple chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese and avocado and it was delicious. The French bread was crunchy, the ingredients fresh and lots of chicken.
