Haven’t been to an IHOP in a long time and likely wouldn’t have given it a thought based on previous experiences 10+ years ago, but a coupon on the back of a receipt brought us in. (Smart marketing move IHOP)!
I am glad we did. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly young lady and seated in a booth. A waitress quickly followed to introduce herself and take our drink orders. Returned right away and offered a few menu suggestions and provided as much time as we needed to review a new and well put together menu, with plenty of selections.
The meals were visually appealing as well as delicious. Plenty to eat, even leftovers. One thing that we were disappointed with was having to choose between hash browns and toast or pancakes, for the price. We did try the $1.00 promotional dough bites. They were ok. The bill was a bit pricey but like I said, enough for leftovers, so worth it.
The coffee was served in an individual table pot and filled as needed to keep it warm. Check backs were frequent and the entire staff was friendly.
This was a welcome change and provides us another choice for a family meal at a place we can count on the service and the food.

The Racine IHOP has the worst breakfast in town. I have never seen or tasted an omelet like the one they served me. It was like a flat egg pancake tightly rolled up with all the ingredients dumped on top instead of inside the omelet. The hash browns were burned. The pumpkin pancakes were drenched in sugar, cinnamon, and whipped topping, even though I had asked for all that to be omitted. They did bring me second stack of pumpkin pancakes without all the extra toppings.
Instead of having a cashier AND a host/hostess, they had one employee trying to be both, which did not work well.
I realize that IHOP is not a gourmet restaurant, but you’d think that at least they’d do breakfast well. Even though it was a Saturday morning, there were very few customers. Maybe the poor quality of the food is the reason.

This is a restaurant that as a customer I want them to succeed but they keep shooting themselves in the foot. We took our 8 yr. old grandson for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning. Herman seated and served us. He served us water and took our order. Here’s where things went downhill. My meal was the only meal that came out correctly. I ordered a 55+ 2+2+2 it was fine. My wife ordered pumpkin spice pancakes with whipped cream and scrambled eggs. She received regular pancakes without whipped cream. The scrambled eggs were fine. The replacement pumpkin spice pancakes took forever to come, I had finished my meal. When they did arrive they did come with whipped cream but no butter. My wife slowly ate the pancakes waiting for butter. It arrived when she had eaten about half the pancakes. My grandson ordered from the kids menu. He also ordered a strawberry lemonade which never arrived. The manager was going to nearly every table to attend to customer complaints. There was a table of about 8 just adjacent to us. The server brought out the bill just as another server brought out a meal for one of the people in the party. Everyone else has eaten their meal, the bill was printed and delivered for the entire party and she just then got her meal!?!? This restaurant has potential, they just need the right people to staff it.

Skip this IHop. The service was good, but this picture is what they think is corned beef hash. By the way, that’s not corned beef – it’s ham. We ordered their “special” coffees. They came black, no creamer, and no Swiss Mocha taste. I will say that the omelet was good. Our server was very nice, but I hope she finds a better gig. Now I remember why I don’t go to IHop.
