I had a great experience at IHOP in Totowa. I usually order a crispy chicken salad, but this time the chicken was darker than usual, possibly due to the oil. Jonathan, the manager, was extremely kind. He noticed I didn’t eat my salad, and he offered me a replacement with grilled chicken and sincerely apologized. The service from both him and the waitress was fantastic, and the restaurant was spotless. I’m very grateful and will definitely be returning!

Just awful. Its so badly managed. We had little flies constantly coming round the syrups. It’s now all halal food inside. Our server wasn’t very friendly or very good. When you are seated with kids…extra napkins are a must! There are no napkins on tables anywhere. You have to beg for them! Our server spilt strawberries all over the table and menu and just left it there. She didnt come back with a cloth or napkins or anything. Who does that? I had to beg another server for napkins and clean it up myself. Yeah its that kind of service. See the photo to see what I mean. She knew she did it. She said oops as she set it down. Just left it all over the table. Anyway, never again. That’s how they train their servers. The whole atmosphere and cleanliness is dire. Be kind to yourself, eat elsewhere.

I was honestly so surprised and happy to see a halal menu at IHOP — didn’t expect it at all! The moment we walked in, the experience was amazing. Our server was incredibly polite, attentive, and genuinely one of the best I’ve met. I really want to appreciate her efforts!
The food was delicious, fresh, and exactly what we hoped for. Even the manager personally checked on us to make sure everything was alright, which made the experience feel even more special.
It was a 45-minute drive for us, but truly 100% worth it. We left very impressed and will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

IHOP Totowa is my favorite restaurant. I have gotten takeout at this restaurant nearly every day for the past several years, and I have always been completely satisfied.
IHOP Totowa far exceeds all other IHOPs in terms of portion sizes and service. In particular, the omelettes are huge, and they are prepared promptly and skillfully. My order is almost always ready prior to my arrival, and when it is not, there is always a good reason (the restaurant is extremely busy).
The staff is friendly, attentive, kind, and intelligent. I trust most of the staff more than some of my medical doctors. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This has probably become my favorite IHOP ever, and it’s not just because it’s the only halal IHOP in New Jersey (though that’s mostly the reason). The quality of the food is very good, the restaurant is clean & well-maintained, and the staff are friendly, prompt, & energetic (which can be hard at 5am).
We got there at 4:45am and we were seated quickly. This IHOP has a distinct halal menu filled will sweet & savory options (all cooked on “halal-only” grills); if that’s not enough then you can request if items from the normal menu can be made halal.
We ordered a few items, like the Crepe Combo (Strawberries & Cream) and Chicken & Waffles. The crepes were sweetened right, and the chicken was flavorful. We could also try some halal turkey bacon, a rare treat. The coffee and hot chocolate rounded out the meal well.
Despite how crowded it was, the food arrived without much waiting time. Our waiter made sure we were taken care of, and he did it with a smile. I also admired how nice this IHOP branch looked, both inside and out. By far the best-looking one I’ve been to.
Overall, I can’t wait to come back, and I only wish more IHOP branches could become halal.

I ordered the classic steak burger with a strawberry milkshake, and both were so delicious. I hadn’t had a good burger in a long time and was expecting to be a little disappointed, but this one definitely hit the spot. The strawberry milkshake was great too!
My husband got the T-bone steak, which came with so much food three eggs, hash browns, and a stack of pancakes. We ended up taking most of it to go.
Our server, whose name I believe was Obed, was also very friendly and attentive. Great experience overall! I’m looking forward to coming here again with friends and family.

Who knew IHOP could surprise me like this? I recently visited this IHOP branch that not only offers halal food options, but also has a separate halal menu—yes, you heard that right! And the best part? Even their Happy Hour menu includes halal choices! As someone who always looks for halal-friendly spots, this was a total win.
We tried their Happy Hour specials and went for the Ham & Cheese Omelette (with halal turkey ham) which came with fluffy pancakes, and the Scrambled Egg Ham with Hash Browns—and WOW, talk about generous portions! I’ve been to a lot of IHOPs, but this location had noticeably bigger servings than any other one I’ve been to. Total value for money!

If you visit just be on the watch for these shady practices. Food was alright, service was relatively quick, 24/7 is also a plus. But when we asked for water (expecting tap), waitress brought out bottled water without letting us know there was an up-charge for it. And on top of that the they shadily auto-included gratuity in the total, and then upon paying asked for additional gratuity (effectively double-tipping).

I went on Christmas morning. They were very, very busy. Many establishments would not have been able to handle it well. But, with manager Johnathon at the helm, it was amazing. The food was so tasty and we did not wait long for it to come out pipping hot! The food was wholesome tasting. Better than I ever remember. Even my hot tea was served gourmet.
Our server could not do enough to make us feel welcomed and happy. She was great. I had not been there for several years. It is like a brand new place, far higher in service and food quality.
They will definitely be seeing more of me for that Pancake Combo!
