12/28/25—9am or so —So, I asked my hubby if he wanted to go out for breakfast. He said yes. I suggested a Colombian restaurant, but then I remembered it was all the way in Central Falls, and my brain said, too early for that adventure. So I told him to pick. He said, “I want pancakes.” Simple man. Respect.
We drove to this IHOP near the airport. This is the same IHOP where, years ago, he used to bring his good 91-year-old friend every Sunday. It was their little routine. Some businesses around there have changed, others popped up like mushrooms after rain. It’s interesting to see the changes
Now… the parking lot became a movie scene.
As we were pulling in, a guy was crossing the street to IHOP. A big truck in front of us stopped halfway, leaving us stuck on Airport Road like a confused duck. The walking guy—the pedestrian—started waving his arms like he was directing airplanes and yelling at the truck driver. Drama before pancakes is never a good sign.
We finally parked. Then I see the truck guy get out and confront the pedestrian. To me, it looked like they knew each other… or at least hated each other professionally. When we walked inside, the truck guy and two companions were at the host stand picking up a catering order. I overheard the truck guy say something nasty about this guy , and my husband overheard the pedestrian say, “I’m gonna spit on your food.”
Plot twist: the pedestrian WORKED at IHOP in the kitchen !!!
So of course, the truck guy complained. The host apologized, but you could tell there was nothing he could really do. And this is when I thought “wow , I had this one wrong “ the fights here are not like back in my country , anyhow !!
I always say, I always have a story to tell you guys—LOL. Thankfully, the quarrel did not end in punches. From my point of view, the pedestrian from the kitchen was the one stirring the pot… and not the pancake batter.
Anyway, we got seated, and then—redemption entered the room.
Our waitress, Bethly, arrived. Beautiful inside and out. Big smile. She spoke Spanish perfectly. Kind, warm, and professional. Whatever dark cloud came from the kitchen guy was immediately overshadowed by this woman’s light. She took care of us right away—courteous, attentive, just genuinely nice. Too bad the truck guy didn’t stay to eat, because Bethly alone could have fixed the kitchen worker to become a memory to not be remembered .
I ordered pancakes with beef tips—wonderful. I drank my coffee black, because once you put milk in coffee, in my opinion, it stops being coffee. I want to taste the beans, not the cow.
My husband tried to get the secret pancake recipe from Bethly, but she would not budge. Loyal employee. IHOP, you have a good one.
I pray Christ bestows many blessings on Bethly for the year 2026—health, peace, and prosperity in every area of her life.
So yes, the morning started turbulent… but it ended sweet. And like pancakes, sometimes life needs a little heat before it turns out good. ✨

Waitress was a it snippy when asked for silverware we never got in the first place. I tried to order the appetizer platter, they didn’t have onion rings for it and didn’t offer any options. I ordered something that was barely lukewarm

I went to this store at 9.45 pm to buy a package
These people were lying on an armchair and using it as a bedroom. I hope they watch this disgrace from the cameras, managers.

Im not sure if it is possible to give a 0 star review. I went in with my family for breakfast.. I am currently 6 months pregnant and all who know (Pregnant women should not consume raw or undercooked meat) it can harm a baby in the womb. I ordered well done steak and over medium eggs.. and I was eatting the food and realized the steak was chewier than when i normally get it somewhere else, My husband told me to cut into the steak and when I did it was pink inside.. not only that my eggs were less than halfway raw (NOT over medium).. they took care the of bill for me and had someone I believe from corporate call me the next day she did an investigation.. She then told me the waitress may have grabbed the wrong order which was not true because I customized my order but I said ok.. mind you i still tipped the waitress. The person who called offered to send a gift card in the mail (Which I never received) I messaged to update and she said she would reach out for an update… which its been a week and she still has not “updated” me and I move out of my residence in just 2 days. I did advise her I was no longer interested because at this point just seemed like it was a lie and they never cared or were “Concerned”
Horrible place to eat at and if your pregnant dont trust these people. Will attach images.

The manager here is horrible. She left at 3 p.m. yesterday, leaving a new hire and a cook alone—no host, no other servers. This poor girl was overwhelmed, handling over ten tables at a time for her entire shift. And on Halloween, one of the busiest days of the year!
Thankfully, she has amazing parents who came to help her, and even some customers pitched in to clean and put dishes away. You can’t make this up. I’m so glad yesterday was her last day—she was only there for a week.
She’s lucky to have such supportive parents who own their own diner and understand how hard that must have been for their daughter. Good luck to this girl—you’ll go far in life. This IHOP desperately needs new management. The fact that the waitress did not walkout during her last shift is a testament to her character and values!!!

Feels like you enter gods waiting room except there is an insufferable doorbell that constantly rings when people enter and exit (usually because they weren’t greeted)
If you manage to be seated or even get your food by inattentive wait staff you’ll enjoy eating it but every other facet of the dining experience is absolutely intolerable. Servers are very clear about whose table is THEIRS and make sure to look you dead in the face knowing you’re ready for a refill of your coffee (that never comes) or even the check.
Just go to Dennys. This place is awful !!
Service is the absolute worst !

WORST IHOP EXPERIENCE EVER! No one was at the counter to seat us. We had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Then we finally sat down and our waitress only came by our table, once to take our food order, once to drop off the food, and once to give us the bill. The restaurant wasn’t even busy! There was about 10 tables occupied with multiple waitresses working at the time. The icing on the cake was when we got robbed! While we waited for our food, someone from the outside walked in, approached our table, asked my husband for money, and walked out with my husband’s money. This was the worst IHOP experience we have ever had! They should not have the front desk empty. It was clear that this person who robbed us had done this kind of thing before, most likely at this same location because of poor management and staffing. On a side note, the food I ordered didn’t even come out right but I was so devastated after being robbed that it was the least of my concerns. Finally, as we were walking out someone was demanding to see a manager. STAY CLEAR FROM THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ROBBED!

Went there for breakfast before flight from PVD. My order came scrambled instead of over medium. Toast was supposed to be wheat, was white. Coffee was good. Wife ordered whipped cream pancakes. Had to wait to get them. No whip cream!! DID NOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE WE WERE LIMITED ON TIME. HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE. WOULD HAVE GIVEN 3.75. SO food is good, but orders and service questionable. Average at best.

I came in during the weekend with my family and I’ve honestly never seen a restaurant so poorly run in my life. Whoever is running this place needs a serious lesson in service I seen my waitress cleaning her tables and others tables along with sitting the door bringing out food and drinks. I have never been anywhere that I’ve seen my server running around with a bus bucket and then seating new people coming in why is there no staff here?! The food took a while, it was decent but unfortunately I don’t think I will be returning to this clearly unorganized and unsupervised restaurant it’s a shame I used to love ihop

It’s a nice place to stop on long drives. Coming from Connecticut to Massachusetts for a family get-together in Salem. The food is great and filling, the servers are nice, and the atmosphere is a bit cozy(side from the kiddos having yelling contests, hahahaha)
