Idle Hour Biergarten was a more relaxed spot when I went with my family of 6 during lunch time. There was music and even a TV playing animal videos, which kept the kids entertained during the long wait for food. I had a burger with fries and ranch — both were good. I’m a big pickle fan, so i was sadly disappointed by their handmade pickles. I ordered wings based on pictures I’d seen in other reviews, but they turned out to be tiny “lollipop” wings, which I’d never heard of, so we asked to send them back. It barely looked like they had meat on them. The waitress said she’d take them off the bill, but since the Wi-Fi was down, she just wrote our total on paper, so I’m hoping we weren’t charged. Outdoor seating is spacious, but it was way too hot that day, so we were glad to grab indoor seating right away before it got busier.

Unfortunately Idle hour’s service and food were a disappointment. We chose idle because it is a dog friendly restaurant in a nice area right by the beach. The outside seating is inviting with the fire pits , sand and live music. I ordered the mahi tacos , they lacked flavor. I’ve had better seafood inland North Carolina which I think is odd. My friend ordered the shrimp burger, we were expecting a patty but it came with actual pieces of fried shrimp and they were ok. My sister ordered the chicken sandwich but they didn’t have the chicken to make it so she got wings instead. We had to remind the waitress of the drinks we ordered and I got handed the wrong drink once. The waitresses were not very organized. I also got a margarita that wasn’t good . When we received our digital bill I made sure to ask if the chicken switch was adjusted and I was told it was so I paid. However it wasn’t until I insisted on getting my receipt was it discovered I was charged for the chicken sandwich as well as the wings. The waitress corrected it. I’m disappointed in the service most of all. I would not return.

Picked up lunch yesterday for my boss lady & I & it was so yummy! I had a shrimp burger that had bacon lettuce & tomato on a brioche bun. So very delicious & the fries were delicious too! I ate every bite! We will definitely be going back!

Wow!! Really enjoyed this place!! Food was so delicious and our server was just the greatest!! She was so helpful and just and so sweet! We had the grilled blackend MahiMahi basket and the house burger! Also the fried cheese curds and Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese! It was fantastic! The atmosphere was really nice! We dinned in the outside area and it was amazing, like you were actually on the beach!

I enjoyed eating at Idle Hour Biergarten. The house burger and bavarian pretzel tasted very good. The burger was well cooked and topped with onions, pickles, and special sauce. The pretzel was soft, buttered, and also came with special sauces. The meal and overall atmosphere was pleasant and the prices were reasonable. Our waitress was friendly, but took a long time to take our order and the food took awhile. Other than that, this is a very pleasant low-key restaurant by the ocean.

Sweet little spot food and drinks. I love the setup and atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly and very attentive. The food is stereo typical of small beach bars. It wasn’t bad at all, it just isn’t anything to ride home about. Everything was fresh and on time, and like I said we enjoyed the atmosphere and having a couple of drinks.

Omg!!! Best fish tacos ever! Shay was an amazing bar tender and recommended the blacked fish tacos and I’m so glad that I ordered them. They also have house made salsa which is also delicious. I wasnt impressed with the nachos but the atmosphere was great. I’ll definitely be back.

After a long day of fishing, I decided on Idle Hour Biergarten after reviewing several restaurants in the area.
My bartender was so genuinely friendly , down-to-earth with a positive attitude!
Idle had a cool decor and seating inside and nice outside patio seating.
The owners actually showed to have dinner & drinks. Bartender told me there come in often when they are in town. I had the ‘BAJA Chicken Tacos’ and they amazing!

I had a great meal here, the shrimp burger was soooo good!! After I took a bite I had to take a picture. It paired super well with the beer I had too I think beer makes food taste better somehow…

First time taking our pup to a restaurant and had a great first experience with her. They even had 3 items for dogs on the menu! How cute! The food was delicious and the service was great too! Definitely will be back in the future!
