Amazing selection of mostly small plates for everyone from an adventurous to picky eater in a fun, authentic environment.
When you walk in the door the smoke of the Japanese grills greet you. You see the fire and sizzle as you sit counter side or at your tables. A feast for the eyes, nose and palette.
I particularly enjoyed the Japanese sausages, ribeye skewers and the grilled corn; my son loved the fried rice and the negima and my wife swore by the duck and shadhito peppers
Great bar and beer selection.
Props to Lawrence for great service and some fantastic recommendations.
Offstreet parking and clean restrooms. Fun fun fun
I love the size of this restaurant as well as it reminds me of east coast places instead of the massive footprints so many restaurants end up with here in Texas.
Run to this restaurant and if you get Lawrence as your server you’ll be well taken care of.
Prob deserves a 2 star instead of one star. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was impeccable! I’m just a tad critical on the food :/

First, the service and vibes here were top tier. Can’t complain. 10/10
Food wise. Man. The skewers were overly seasoned, shrimp tempura was overly battered, the lemon sour cocktails… tasted like lemonade + vodka. Can you believe each small personal skewer was $5ish
Highlights – unagi don and duck dipping noodles
We waited over an hour for a group of five, but even after finally being seated there were large gaps of time in between ordering and getting all our food. There was a large convention happening in the area so it’s understandable that initial wait times for open tables may have been long, but that doesn’t explain why it took similarly long for food to arrive; The impression we got was that this place is very understaffed. This is an izakaya so we came with the expectation that there would be a steady flow of food. Instead we had to wait 20~30 minutes in between our small plates, which we felt like defeated the whole purpose of coming here.
The food was ok but combined with its price point and wait times, we did not feel like it was worth it.
Additionally, there was a small centerpiece vase with a plant and what looked like a live betta fish on the table; Betta fish require a minimum of 2.5 gallons for proper care. This was the size of a large drinking cup at best, and clearly not a humane way of taking care of a live fish.
To conclude, not one part of this dining experience was enjoyable in the least, except for our wonderful server.
