Busy life but when we get a chance to treat ourselves to sushi we stopped going anywhere else.
The soup that accompanied the meal was delightful, light and not over-seasoned. The rice was fresh and well prepared. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the excellent, friendly staff.
For anyone who enjoys sushi or Japanese cuisine, this is definitely a place worth visiting. I enjoyed what I had , If your a sushi fan Drop by just off of 101 in Prune Plaza
And the service was normal; I think the young woman just needed a little training.
My niece wanted to go there for her birthday, so we went. She liked her sushi rolls and enjoyed it.
Finally we are told to pick anywhere, we find a table and sit down. Menus are dispensed and drinks are ordered.
First time around we needed a couple minutes, then when we were ready it took us forever to get someone to take our order.
Do not try to order lunch items on the weekend. It does not specify that on the menu at all. You pay dinner price all weekend.
We ordered our food, which took some time. Salad came with a small to-go cup of salad dressing placed on top of the salad.
Sushi rolls were okay, rice was a bit overdone and thickly layered on the nori. I got full fast. The tempura inside the sushi roll wasn’t crispy at all, it went soggy. The batter was a bit on the thicker side.
The tempura appetizers were small and limited. Carrot, squash/potato, acorn squash, singular piece of broccoli, zucchini, and shrimp. The plates were a bit large, making the portions look quite small. The veggie tempura provided a couple extra pieces of broccoli, but almost the same.
Coco loco roll is alright, big mouthful. Toasted coconut would have made the dish better, different texture and taste. Dragon roll was just meh.
It was odd that they only provide you one receipt with the itemization, then only one copy to sign. Always usually a merchant copy and customer copy.
Still $80 for two people, sushi/ Japanese food just seems to get more expensive nowadays.
Prep took while but worth the wait, everything delicious good value.
I recommend getting their spicy edamame as far as rolls: The hangover roll, 101 roll, hot cheeto roll, and the 49er roll are our favorite!
