First time trying the little hidden gem in San Diego and it was amazing. The chicken and egg sando was really good. Lots of egg, cheese, and drenched in sauce. And the sweet Japanese milk bread it came with was a perfect pair. The sandos are a bit pricey to be eating here frequently for me, but you do get your moneys worth with the quality of the food. Will definitely be coming back here again. Overall 5 ⭐️

I don’t understand how they have a 4.4 rating. Everything about this place is mediocre. I ordered a mixed fruit sandwich for $9.73 and a misubi for an additional cost. The fruit sandwich wasn’t filled with cream all the way, for the price they could have packed it with more cream and the fruit was soggy. The misubi had a weird taste and the rice tasted old, I couldn’t finish it. Plus it’s on the counter at the front where it’s been sitting out probably all day without proper food temp.
They have an employee named Stephanie who helps take orders, doesn’t wear a name tag & when asked to give her name gets all defensive. Another young man was sitting behind the counter on his phone, I was standing looking at the menu for awhile before she came over and asked if I was ready to order. She speaks really low in a squeaky voice and can barely hear what she’s saying over the music playing in the background. I had a couple questions about the menu being that it was my first time there and she seemed annoyed and bothered to answer them. She looks like she doesn’t enjoy her job & is miserable there. They didn’t have all menu items available at the time I was willing to come back to give it a second try but after tasting the quality of the food & their stank attitude, I’d rather keep my money and go elsewhere. Not coming here again. Food 1/5, Service 1/5, Atmosphere 1/5. Honest Review.

It feels like I’m back in Japan again with these better-than-konbini sandos Personally, I recommend any of the Rice Plate combos, the Menchi Beef sando, or any of the Egg Sandos. I haven’t had sushi here yet, but the drinks are good too. They also sell different flavors of onigiri (rice ball triangles) and musubi, in limited quantities until gone (usually they start to run out after 2pm). You can order ahead using the website or via phone call. There is also a digital kiosk if you prefer that over waiting in line for the counter. They take cash and card (swipe, chip, tap = ok), but there is a charge for using a card (50 cents, I think?). There are dine-in and take-out order options available, but no delivery (as far as I know). Seating is limited since it’s a small restaurant, so if you’re hungry during rush hour, I recommend ordering ahead of time and as take-out. There’s no outdoor/patio seating or public restrooms. Parking is somewhat difficult depending on when you arrive, the size of your car, and which of the two public parking lots (free) you park in. They play music in the dining area but otherwise it’s relatively quiet outside of the hustle/bustle of lunch & dinner rush hours.

Edit: For anyone who hasn’t been to Japan, the fries are prepared Japanese style, which means they come unsalted and with no sauce. Be sure to ask the staff for salt and ketchup packets if you want it, or it probably won’t be included in your take-out order.

Let me start by saying that I’m rating this place based on the quality of food, the flavor, and value for money. I would recommend this place for take out. The dine in experience left something to be desired. The service was fantastic but the atmosphere just isn’t there. I would love to see this little restaurant get a makeover because their food speaks volumes. I fed my partner and I for $40 and we got a TON of food. We got 2 sandwiches, 2 large drinks, and an order of fries to split. Their milk bread was toasty but soft and so delicious. The meat had amazing flavoring and crispness. The slaw was super good too. We enjoyed our milk teas, honestly this place is great. I would highly recommend and definitely come again.

Food was yummy and my drink was really good, loved the boba pearls they seemed pretty fresh not old & overly mushy. (Drink is fairly big so you can totally share it, plus it’s sweet so yeah definitely drink some water after.) The packaging was pretty cute for one of the sandwiches my husband purchased, I didn’t go inside so I can’t really comment on the actual establishment itself, but my husband said it was cool, nice and clean. I would definitely say check them out if your anywhere near H street in Chula Vista.

Had the Garlic X Chicken Sando. Had tons of flavor. Nice and juicy chicken and the right amount of crispy and garlicly excellence. Also had one of the Korean Egg Toast sandwiches. The contents of the sandwich was good, but the toasted was missing flavor. Pehaps use garlic butter for the toast. Overall would eat there again. Friendly staff, very helpful.

This place is small cramped and dingy. No restrooms. That being said they do deliver a delicious sandwich. The katsu is excellent. I had the kimchi chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Their napkins kind of suck which becomes an issue because the sandwiches are messy and they don’t really give you that many. Their fries are mid. Overall I would definitely come here again for the sandwich experience and that’s all that really matters.

Stopped by this little shop across the Chula Vista Mall. Ordered the Kimchi chicken sando, shrimp katsu sando, Large Thai iced tea w/ boba and a regular jasmine milk tea w/ boba. Both the sando’s were good and had a nice amount flavor in each bite. Daikon peices were on the side to clean the palate.
The drinks had a good amount of boba in the drink and was not too sweet for my taste. Would definetly come back here again to try a different sando or rice bowl.

My favorite part about this restaurant is the side of Japanese curry you can order to dip your katsu sandwich in! Yum, so flavorful! Make sure to order it.

The place is bright, colorful and joyful, and I loved going here to experience a different style of Japanese food from the typical ramen/Izakaya San Diego Japanese establishment.

Music was just a tad loud for my taste, but it didn’t bother me also.
