Real Review from a Normal Guy with a wife and 2 kids (10 and 12)… We are from New Jersey and stopped here for dinner on our trip home from Florida. I thought the food was really good and the portion sizes were huge. Our chef did a great job and the waitress was really attentive and amazing! Definitely recommend this spot!!

Order the dinner Imperial for my wife and I during lunch to-go with 2 sides of carrots… first, the price was $78 which was expected but the quality of food was sub-par. The amount of food was very small. We usually can eat off the plates for 2 days but this didnt last a meal. It looked under seasoned and the carrots were so sweet it was like eating candy… yes, we like the sweet carrots they used to serve but these were so sweet it was like pure sugar. The food tasted OK, but for $78 bucks I could have gotten more food from Tokyo Express, drinks, dessert, and gas to drive there and back… I used to LOVE the food there, but after this I don’t know if ill go back.

The food was great… But my mom felt everything tasted the “same”… Only soy sauce/ salt…….. She had the salmon. Next time she says she’ll ask the cook to NOT douse her salmon with soy sauce. Salmon has it’s own wonderful taste naturally. Always entertaining, nonetheless. Have your cash ready to tip the chef before he leaves your station!

This is one of Rocky Mounts “nice” restaurants. We occasionally come her for special occasions as it can become quite pricy. They do however serve some of the best fried rice I have ever had. They have a good sushi menu, and a vast bar selection with probably 50 mixed drinks. Expect to pay 20-30 for entrées unless you split with someone. However, you should have a large take out box with leftovers by the time you are finished. It usually provides lunch, and even dinner the next day. Surprisingly the rice heats up well too. The hibachi chefs are decent however, I have had better “performances” elsewhere. If you have someone in your party that has a birthday or a special day, they are pretty good about asking, and doing something special for them.

First time trying this Ichiban…. I ordered a teriyaki chicken with LIGHT onions and a bottle of yum yum… 25mins later, and with a price tag of $29 bucks I had so many onions they looked like noodles! I could barely see the chicken beneath. When I “checked my order” as they requested (because there are no refunds), the server said, “our onions are pretty big, you can talk to the manager” … Stevie Wonder could see that there was an entire onion on the plate. The manager offered to have them taken off… but by that time, the principals had compounded… first time order, $29, 25 mins, order incorrect…. just asked for my money back and left without the food. Now I’m hungry. I was so excited…

What a shock! The Rocky Mountain, NC never did I think I would find awesome sushi. I ordered an eel, crab roll. It was so fresh that it melted in my mouth. Probably the best role ever!

I ordered one side of vegetables they told me it would be 10 to 15 minutes after 30 minutes I still have not received my order the restaurant has just opened so there was only a handful of people in there. And the girls up front taking order all of them walking around coughing not covering their mouth they lost me as a customer

walked in at 12:45 and the chef did not come in to start cooking food until after 1:30! The very top of their menu says that they have “super fast lunch” that was a lie! worst experience ever. Additionally, I picked this place for the sushi only to find out that they do not serve sushi during lunch hours. waste of time.

Always a fun experience here. I highly recommend to go here for birthdays. I got the chicken hibachi, and it was great. Our chef was very entertaining, and got all of our orders correct. Would go back again.
