Ice house is a family owned restaurant that has been a staple in Southwest Iowa for the past 40 years. Our goal has always been to be THE place in town to get together with family and friends over food and drinks. We think that is what makes all the difference and is what created the family like atmosphere we have all come to know and love at the Ice House. Thank you Clarinda Iowa for 40 great years. We stopped in during an across-state road trip and the food was very good! We ordered the Reuben, Cajun Pasta, Brisket Mac n’ Cheese Wrap, & Southwest Burger. The service was good as well. It’s very spacious and seems like a great reliable place to grab some dinner.

The service here was good and so was the food. Got the Philly as usual and this one is made very well. It has great flavor and was loaded with meat and veggies. The chicken fried steak wasn’t homemade but wasn’t bad either. The gravy and bake potato needed to be warmed up more cuz they were a little on the cold side.

The only problem was ordering the 10 piece fried shrimp platter at the drive-through & finding 5 pieces after getting home (they probably only charged for 5, hubby didn’t check the receipt, but will double check the order next time). Love that shrimp ! For only a few bucks more the 5 piece doesn’t make sense.pp

It’s not fancy fine dining, but it is just fine to dine in. The food was fantastic and the service was super! I’m confident that you will find your favorite. Note that the half order of nachos will feed 3 or 4 people and they are fantastic

We have never had a bad experience here. The food has always been good and hot. The servers are a little quiet. It can get very busy very fast. So, plan for a wait to be seated. The menu has something for everyone, even my picky eaters like eating here.

Tenderloin sandwich was good as was the Ruben but would not consider either something I must go back for. The fried pickles though where excellent and would definitely recommend to start out with those. All around service was friendly and although I would have like my glass refilled before it was completely empty, I don’t remember waiting long for more to drink. If I’m in the area I would go back, but nothing I had would get me to make a special trip here to eat.
