By and far the freshest tasting sashimi I have had in the area yet. At an affordable price too. Initially they had forgotten an item I ordered but when I called the store they were quick to express their apologies and even offered to drop it off themselves. They also make the best miso soup I’ve had to date. Thank you for the free takoyaki as well!!

The chef clearly has a deep understanding of Japanese culture. The way he slices the fish and the background music set the mood perfectly. The sushi was absolutely delicious, and the shrimp tempura was just as tasty. However, the salad was a bit too spicy for my taste. It was a Monday night, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. That’s why we got complimentary green tea ice cream, which was a lovely surprise.

I’d been seeing Icca Sushi pretty often in the Threads so after keeping an eye on it for a while, I finally gave it a try—and ordered takeout!
It was one of those weekends when I was seriously craving sushi and sashimi, so I went with their “Stairway to Heaven” set for two—something I had bookmarked ages ago.
Here’s what the set came with:
20 pieces of sushi, 10 pieces of sashimi, a giant dragon roll, scallops, 2 shrimp tempura, 2 takoyaki, 2 mini udon, and 2 salads.
The portion was just right for two people, and it was honestly so fun unpacking and enjoying each item one by one.
When I placed the order, the owner kindly mentioned
that the presentation might not be perfect since it was takeout—
but honestly, no need to worry at all!
The presentation was beautifully neat.
The total came to $106 with tax, and considering the variety, quantity, freshness, and overall quality, it felt more than worth it.
The owner even threw in a few extra pieces of sashimi as a little treat, and was incredibly warm and welcoming—which just made the experience even better.
To be honest, the $90–$100 platters from local sushi spots often leave me wanting a bit more.
But Icca Sushi hits that sweet spot perfectly— great value, generous portions, super fresh ingredients.
I’m definitely going to be ordering from here again!

3 of us got a sushi and sashimi combo, SO GOOD. The rolls were also delicious. The fish quality is 5/5 we will definitely be back. Love the miso soup and salad service too.

I’ve been to A LOT of sushi spots in NJ and beyond, and Icca has been my go-to sushi place for the past few years! I’ve brought friends and family here to share my love for Icca, and they’ve all had great experiences. I’m a huge fan of their kani salad—the apple pieces in it add a sweet, refreshing crunch. My go-to rolls are the Sake Lover Roll and the Zesti Roll (surprising, since I don’t even like lemon in my water). But my absolute favorite is the salmon belly sashimi. Each bite feels like a little piece of heaven as the fat melts in my mouth. The chef also loves to surprise us with something on the house, whether it’s extra slices of sashimi or desserts. You can really tell that the food is prepared with love and care, and that’s why I keep coming back to Icca!
