One thing to note is that the floor was quite slippery; we almost slipped a couple of times, so I hope this is something they can improve for guest safety.
Aside from that, the atmosphere was nice and we would definitely come back again for the delicious BBQ and great service.
Unfortunately, my experience at I Can Barbecue Korean Grill was disappointing. The food was below average — lacking the flavor and quality you’d expect from a Korean BBQ restaurant. What made the experience worse was the extremely poor service. The staff were inattentive and very slow, making the entire dining process frustrating.
Communication was a major issue as well. Nearly half of the staff did not speak English, which made it very difficult to ask questions or request anything. This added unnecessary confusion and delays to an already underwhelming experience.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. With so many better Korean BBQ options available, this one is simply not worth your time or money.
All of our food was super unfresh and plain disgusting. I had to send back 3 sides and 2 meats. All of the meat we got tasted unusually old, grey color, and excess fat.
The starting sides are ridiculously skimped at this point, to put it into perspective they put 4 individual pieces of rice paper lol.
Service was horrible. Only 2 servers for a full restaurant.
Truly disappointed with this, will not come back here again. Other KBBQ spots in oc have my business. Sadly management and owners care very little about the customer experience.
AVOID
From the start, things were off. You order online, and the server is supposed to check that you receive everything. Well, we didn’t get any of our food for the first 10–15 minutes. We had to call the server over just to get things moving.
When my sister politely asked about our drinks, he looked her straight in the eyes and said, “No, you have to order.” We had ordered—the drinks just never came.
We also requested hot water for my pregnant cousin. He said, “Sure,” but never brought it. We reminded him several times. Eventually, when it did arrive, it was in a plastic cup—completely inappropriate for hot water.
We ordered rice and never got it until we flagged down another server. The grill got so burnt we asked for it to be changed. The server just turned it off and walked away, not saying a word. We didn’t even realize until our food stopped cooking and had to ask someone else to turn it back on.
This whole experience was careless and borderline rude. We’ve never been treated like this at any restaurant, let alone a Korean BBQ where service usually stands out.
Not coming back. Ever
The only thing I personally didn’t like is the quality of chop sticks, very cheap kinds. Other than that amazing food!!! I highly recommend trying this place. Would absolutely come back.
They also have a lunch menu and halal menu.
