I’ve been to Hysyde since they opened and every time is amazing! Food is always the same top quality! Whole menu is delicious! Atmosphere is always welcoming and safe. I always recommend Hysyde to everyone I know.

I chose to celebrate my 25th birthday at Hysyde after hearing great things about the food and previously enjoying the nightlife. I was excited to return and finally try the dining experience, and had friends travel 4–5 hours to celebrate with me. Our group ranged of young professionals of ages 25 to 40.
Unfortunately, I was denied entry due to the 25+ policy just hours before my actual birthday, despite there being very few patrons inside at the time.
What stood out most was the interaction with the security. When I asked to speak with management, the security guard was rude, dismissive and did not allow the opportunity for further conversation. The response felt overly hostile for no threat to be posed.
I understand and respect venue policies. However, the overall experience did not reflect the level of hospitality I had expected. It’s not the fact that I couldn’t get in, but how everything occurred.

The atmosphere was awesome. I didn’t know what to expect but my coworkers really wanted to do brunch so brunch we did. Usually I hate brunch because I don’t eat pork and eggs aren’t my favorite but this brunch is different! They have every variation of grits that you can think of and haven’t thought of yet. They have salmon and grits, shrimp and grits, and fish and grits to name a few. The service was polite and the honestly they had me at mimosa tower. Me and my friends shared a mimosa tower and I will be back for one of those. Also the DJ was quite the vibe.

The experience at this bar was exceptional.The environment & aesthetic was very pleasing. The food was great and someone kept checking on us to make sure that we were okay, and were very inviting. I highly recommend this location and will be returning again.

They overserve people, leaving them extremely vulnerable without care for their wellbeing. I went (will not disclose the day) and was bothered by an extremely drunk woman. She was a stressed single mother and they served her 7 drinks and kept serving her more. She was getting home on the bus and she looked belligerent. Security doesn’t care that a woman who could barely stand was bothering every patron in the bar? I’m worried about the community impact, this is seriously dangerous. Shame because I enjoy the food. I mean those wings are special and we used to go in just for the food but unfortunately I don’t think management sees the value in customers outside of money. I’m pissed at the lack of respect.

We had the fish and grits which was probably one of the best that Pittsburgh has to offer. It was seasoned well and cooked right
The chicken and waffles were a solid 9/10 as well.
We are excited to get back to try some other things on the menu.

I came into this establishment Saturday night I was very surprised about how I was treated as I was walking into the door. The security guard that had the ski mask on put his hands on me as I was walking in and pushed me into the railing as I was trying to go inside. Then snatched my ID out of my hands and aggressively pushed it back into my hands as if I was ruining his day when I was only letting him do his job I know procedures and how they work. Then the next security guard then searched my bag and then tried to snatch it off my shoulder as if something was in there I wanted to leave immediately after that but I heard the food was really good and I wanted to try it. But that security team is completely disrespectful and rude I understand doing your job but assaulting your guest is not the way to do your job. That was my 1st and last time coming in there.

Went to hysyde today and we got there at exactly 1130am They opened the doors at exactly 1130. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The owner came out and talked to us and also helped bring food to table. I had the red velvet waffle with chicken wings and also grits. My wife had regular waffle with chicken wings and a side of the potatoes. All the food we had was 20 out of 10. The service was quick and hot. Food was well seasoned and I didn’t add any condiments to my food not even the syrup for my waffle. Also had a mimosa tower and it’s a must have. My first time going and will be back on the regular. If you haven’t been take my word and get there ASAP. You can thank me later
