Here we go with another review guys…
So… West Philly is a staple for some good food. I grew up in West Philadelphia and remember coming to Hyon’s when I was a little girl with my mother. I have not been around this area since I was 10 years old. Coming back into the store smelling of hot fried chicken, fry fish and french fries fries was so nostalgic for me. Nothing has changed about the store not even the owners lol. The fish and the chicken which I always get, was so fresh and so good especially with salt, pepper, ketchup, and hot sauce. If you’re looking for good customer service and amazing food that’s easy on your pocket come to Hyon’s. I posted some videos and a picture of my food and both do not do this place any justice. The place may look like nothing but is very much something.

They claim to always be busy to cook on the grill as far as making burgers in cheese steaks when going into the store no one is hardly in there. They just want to make chicken wings that’s not good they are too big in the seafood is not good.

Fake scallops, chicken was ok. Honestly it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Food came back up.. I shoulda took my money and got a chipotle bowl and the lady at the counter with the glass eye has a lil attitude

I ordered a fried fish platter fried hard; the french fries were very good, but the flounder was too soft on the inside. Also I know sneezing is a part of life but I was kind of grossed out when the woman that waited on me sneezed near my food.

Born and raised from Swp but being tied to West too Hyon’s was always a hood staple growing up. If you were in this city the early 90’s on down you know this was a go to for real, still is. You know how quality dropped from over years and years, Hyon’s still do pretty good. My go to is the 4 chicken wings and fries platter that you can season to your liking which mine is salt, pepper, extra ketchup, and lil hot sauce. The flounder and shrimp decent too. Best thing for your money in West all day.

The West Philly location doesn’t taste the same as the SouthPhilly Hyons. The crabsticks tastes like bread and ketchup i didn’t get that imitation crab meat taste here. The wings were ok but not like SouthPhilly Hyons, the panko is overpowering the taste of the food other than that the service was ok and the Macaroni salad was delicious.
