OMG the food was amazing!!! Clifton H was an amazing server. He was very attentive and made good recommendations. We’re here on holiday and it was worth every penny we spent. It felt great to be helped the way we were. The owner even came by and said hi. Didn’t expect that, it was a nice touch. Fast service and even better food. The drink was good too.

We just spent the week in Charleston and the Hyman’s Seafood was the best meal we had while we were there. We had several friends recommend Hyman’s and it did not disappoint. There was a pretty long wait so we decided to eat at the bar and I’m glad we did because we had excellent service. We were both tempted to go back again for dinner the next evening but wanted to try different spots while in Charleston but we both wished we had of went back. Now we have a great excuse to go back to Charleston again this Fall. The halibut was awesome and so was the shrimp and grits. We stayed at the Indigo Inn which was awesome because it was across the street from Hyman’s. Don’t go to Charleston without trying Hyman’s, you’ll be glad you went.

We decided to try Hymans! Driving up and seeing the wait, we almost said never mind. However, by the time we parked and walked back down the street, the crowd had been checked in. The wait was about 45 minutes.

Super fun place! Atmosphere is phenomenal, with pictures and tags of where celebrities sat/ate. Fun to roam around and take it all in. Eli Hyman came around and greeted us , and was very kind and welcoming. Food was VERY tasty- seafood with the southern vibe you’re looking for. The hush puppies are a MUST. It is a touristy spot, but such a fun place to go with great food. Would recommend for your next visit!

Great food and lots of it. The best hush puppies ever and they are free. I even liked the boiled peanuts – don’t judge me. The owner stopped by to say hello. All around great.

This place is absolutely awesome The food was great the service was great it’s a bit tight downstairs in the restaurant but it’s worth it. I will say it only got four stars for the atmosphere because behind the stairs on the side there is some seating by an exit smell really bad we had to move but they moved us with no problem. Our server’s name was Josh has a ponytail and glasses cool guy very knowledgeable The owner Victor came out and greeted us and gave us some pretty cool information about the multicolored cards on the table I do suggest using those to have a little fun. Overall the restaurant was great and I recommend getting the sea bass croquette over fried grits awesome, awesome, awesome. Also try the peach tea slushie you will not regret it. Also the restaurant is pet friendly. Leave comments if you go.

We opted to sit at the bar to avoid the wait. The food was alright. Shrimp was crispy. The BBQ shrimp was not what I expected. It was good though. I just expected the sauce to be baked into the shrimp.

When we arrived and started our touring this place was always packed and had a line waiting. Don’t let that detour you from going. We waited about 40 minutes but it was well worth it.

Without a doubt, one of the finest dining experiences I’ve ever had! Not only was the meal exquisite, but the service was exceptional also. Very well organized and attentive. Upon arrival, our name was taken, and within a couple of minutes, we were asked to go upstairs where we were greeted by a friendly host who promptly seated us. Once seated, our server immediately took our drink order, and off we went. We ordered the recommended Carolina Delight and the Fried Shrimp Platter. Both were incredible. Filling, delicious, yet not overwhelming. The sides of hush puppies and sweet potato souffle were about the best I’ve ever had. I substituted my cole slaw with a side salad, but this was not your typical boring side salad. This was an exciting mix of lettuce, tomato, and cheese, topped with a fresh and spirited balsamic vinaigrette. Once our meal was over, the owner stopped by to ask about our meal. We had a friendly exchange, and it was a great way to wrap up our meal. In short, this is a must place to visit while in Charleston.
