This place falls under the latter category.
This place is a sports bar/restaurant that exists because of Spooky Nook next door.
Took a team there last night after a game.
I will say that they did a good job of getting us seated quickly but from there things went downhill.
Took 30+ minutes to even be greeted by a server and another 30 to get drinks.
An hour later (2 hours after we were seated) the food came out and a 1/3 of the orders were incorrect.
Food is below average at best.
To their credit they did comp the table that had the ridiculously long wait.
Last warning – if you have a group of 8 or more (again, this place is catering to teams) they will require you to put everything on one check.
Bottom line – there are way better places to eat in Hamilton.
Of what I saw of the food, way overpriced. The pizzas were basically a small flat bread with few toppings. one parent ordered the mafia boss sandwich. I was expecting it would be a gigantic sandwich with lots of meat and other toppings. What I saw on the plate was a small 6 inch bun with what appeared to be some slices of meat, a little bit of arugala/greens & some cheese. Far from being worth while for $13….. The person that ordered the sandwich said it did taste good, but not worth the amount of money.
My overall review for the whole spooky nook is an overpriced venue that has you locked in and overcharges for sub-par food and bottled water. Would not hurt if they would put some type of sound deadening fabric across the ceiling to help reduce loud crowd noise to make it easier to have a conversation. The Mill Mojito does receive a thumbs up.
The rest of the staff was also so friendly, even with a bunch of 15 year olds under foot!
Food came out fast and hot exactly as ordered… and the drinks…whoa are they crazy good- ask for Jayla she makes the best cocktails I’ve ever had!!
I wish every place I visited was run this way with staff like this!!
The vibe is nice. Higher end feel with approachable drink menu. I had the B Street Berry cocktail. It was delicious.
There were about 15 people at tables also ordering food but our wait was ridiculous for 2 apps and a flat bread. Our bartender was great and kept checking in on the food as it was obviously taking way too long. Took 37 minutes to receive any food from the kitchen.
The food was a big disappointment.
The margarita flatbread was basic and lacking tomatoes. 4 slices of flatbread with 2 pieces without any tomato. We did not notice any basil at all.
The spinach artichoke dip was very bland had very little seasoning in it at all and the chips tasted stale.
Lastly, we had the steak crostini which was advertised to have bruschetta on it but instead had pico de gallo a decent piece of steak and balsamic glaze drizzled over top.
We will return for the bar but we will eat before.
