This place is great. Went there for dinner on a Friday night. Food was awesome. Service was spectacular. Our waitress was very engaging. They have a good variety of food on the menu. Their burgers are hand-shaped and cooked to order. Kids get an entree, side, dessert and drink for $5, which is incredible. This is a well-managed restaurant and I will definitely eat there more frequently from now on.

We in at 11:30 AM on a Sunday for brunch. No instructions on how or where to order. Went up to the counter to order. Only one guy was working and it was a long line (despite 4 or 5 other employees just wandering around). He told the people in front of us it would be a 45 minute wait for food so we left. Is the Market Street Grille thingy still a restaurant? Seating for ordering on your own? No instructions and slow service despite many employees.

The menu is very limited, mostly burgers and breakfast only. The space to sit and get full service is only about 4 table/booths otherwise the rest of the seating is for the deli eaters. Good for a quick lunch. I would not recommend for a date or family night out.

We had dined here on numerous occasions in the past. We arrived just before 1:00pm on this day to find the place essentially empty. There were maybe 10, 12 people seated in the bar area watching football. We stood waiting for more than five minutes waiting for anyone to seat us only to learn they no longer have wait staff in the Market Grille. The new operating procedure is such that you order a meal at a cash register, pay your ticket and they bring your food to your table. We didn’t pursue this option beyond that. We drove down the street to another establishment.

Always have had great service and staff. The food is good and they’ve got a decent beer and wine list. For the price and quality of food, probably the best value in town.

I entered the Market Grille thru the outside front door and sat at a table and was there 10 mins b4 I got up and asked the bartender if there was any waitstaff on and was in informed there was no waitstaff on and you could order from say Chinese counter and bring into restaurant and eat any other time I would’ve gone somewhere else but it was my sons 9th birthday and this is what he wanted.
Some recommendations for you would be put up some signage saying no waitstaff on and make sure it’s at both entries into restaurant.
Been to another store and that took like 45mins too long you should probably just close this part

Not sure why hy vee has gone back and forth on table service. Definitely prefer the table service if only for breakfast and lunch. The dining area definitely lends itself for table service. And I think they get a better draw when they had table service.
