Visted the Hy-vee market grille “restaurant” portion of the store on 1/8/24 between 1:30pm-1:45pm. This Hy-vee is a small one since it is in a mid-sized town. Each Hy-vee market grille varies (few being converted into Walburgers restaurants) … some are full fledged restaurants with hosts & servers, some are more basic & bares like cafe’s with lesser menus, and some are nothing more than just a seating area similar to a cafeteria where folks have to order from the hot & ready or cold section registers. This locations menu has a very thin selection, with only soda as a drink option. The seating area can hold approx. 40 patrons. When I went up to the counter they were already sold out of everything to freshly make, round up picking up a premade bacon cheeseburger from the hot & ready section… opened it and the 2 buns were stacked on top of each other & the patty, cheese & bacon are on the bottom… the whole thing reminded me on the Mcdonalds meme of “you had one job to do” with a picture of a cheeseburger with the cheese on top of the bun in the to go box. The cashier was friendly & the burger did still taste good after having to properly assemble it myself.
