The last 2 times I’ve been here I have been very disappointed. The fries both times have been cold and hard and both times my cheesesteak did not come with the requested mayo and today’s order had onions so hard I would have considered them fresh, not sautéed.
This is the last time we eat at any Hwy 55.

That’s literally the chicken plate now. It no longer comes with a drink either. This HWY 55 is really hit or miss but after tonight I’m done wasting my money praying they don’t screw me on my portions. Back when they first built it the strips weren’t tough & were decent strips… you’d actually get some fries too. Then I’m not sure what was going on with the floor I didn’t see a wet sign but man that floor was slick. I had to brace myself walking in that place!

Should have known when I arrived at 1pm prime lunch time and the restaurant was dead both inside and in the drive thru that this experience wouldn’t be a good one. And if that wasn’t a giveaway the 93 health score should have been an indicator. Paid $25 for two meals. They haphazardly threw the meals in the bags so everything was scattered and dripping when I pulled the items out of the bags. Ordered the “large” cheesesteak so I could eat the other half for dinner, and honestly if this is the concept of a large cheesesteak I would hate to see how tiny the actual small cheesesteak is. The lids don’t fit properly on the drinks, so I almost spilled my drink several times, and the lid just keeps randomly popping off at any slight movement. The sandwich was room temperature and the fries were ice cold. Not worth the money at all. I remember Hwy 55 used to have good, hot food for a good price. Now the amount you get and the quality you get has plummeted and the price you pay has sky rocketed. I guess we really are living in the days of shrinkflation. If your goal is to lose customers, then, great job, keep it up I can certainly tell you I won’t be back.

Ok so this is a partial review as the food is good, but….
So one of the things this place is known for is there Orangades, normally pretty good. The wife and I ordered 1 for each of us. Server was friendly and fast however the drinks we got tasted like nothing but sugar water.
Now I understand that the oranges can be not as strong tasting I get that. Not the first time it has happened at a J55. It’s a simple fix just add some more oranges to it. Apparently the manager (goes by Andy) thought that was not acceptable and refused to simply add more juice.
Instead we were told to order something different which we did which was sodas which are unlimited refills. How that makes sense over just adding some juice is beyond me.
On top of that the drinks were left on the ticket as Orangades instead of sodas. The Orangades are 5 bucks a piece. That’s unacceptable. We didn’t make a scene but that’s what reviews are for.
Not calling for someone to be fired but comping the drinks or simply adding more juice is the bare minimum of customer service.

The burger was made to perfection and unbelievably good. Tater tots perfectly golden and very light crispy texture and the flavor for “Just a burger and tots” was unbelievable. Tori was so awesome and friendly and her coworkers were just as friendly and helpful as she. Tori, keep it up, you’re an awesome individual. First time at Hwy 55 very impressive.

No… first of all when I asked for ketchup, three times and the young girl at the drive-through does not give me a touch up and I get home to no catch-up. I’m mad. I’m hungry that’s why I’m eating there. I spent $56 on six meals. Needless to say I’m a mother and when I eat a burger, I wanna get a burger with ketchup for my french fries lol
OK anyways we’ll skip that I’ve been dipping them in some kind of sauce that I made not so great. The burger is OK! My husband got the moose which to me taste very, not like chicken tenders more like pulled chicken. It was OK french fries fries or I know again. Kids hotdog were good. The chicken tenders are good. But my burger is ok… It was to go, so of course we had to reheat, but however, the pickles were soggy when we got them. And again, when someone asks for catch-up three times it’s very important. Don’t look at me in the eyes and lie about it. Lol come on
Not happy And second time won’t be coming back

Love this location. Food is always great and comes out fast, service is always fast and friendly, and for the price you can’t go wrong! One of the best sit down get in and out spots in Richlands. Awesome for families too!

The Highway 55 in Richlands, NC is by far my favorite. The food is always fresh and the people are always kind. I may get annoyed at the waiting times, but when my food comes out fresh, I am reminded why I had to wait. Thank you highway 55

These burgers are surprisingly good for fast food! They taste homemade! And the fried pickles are amazing, they taste like they’re from a steakhouse!

Stopped by on our way home to pick up supper went through drive thru. 2 bacon cheeseburgers all the way and chili cheese tots. tots were overcooked bread was soggy NO BACON burgers were wrapped haphazardly. the price seemed a little high when i asked the young blonde lady at the drive thru she smarted off at me “I don’t make the prices!” i was trying to inquire if there was a meal without the drink that may have been a little cheaper. Needless to say We were disappointed tonight. It’s hard for us to dine in anywhere right now because of my broken ankle. The last time i came was several months ago and my onion rings were hard and burnt i never went back to get them replaced.
