My family and I are on vacation in Topsail and stopped at Hwy 55 for a weekday lunch. You absolutely cannot beat the price, and the server was lovely. The restaurant was bright and clean. The food was fresh and came out quickly. So good!

This location is outstanding! We came in for lunch and milkshakes. Julie was our server, and we received incredible service by this wonderful young lady! Hayley on the grill was also spectacular! The prices are reasonable and the vibe is adorable. In the summer or in the off season, Highway 55 Surf City never fails to hit the mark!

It was very busy when we arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday. The food was decent. The wait staff was polite, but we had to keep asking for things we didn’t receive in our order. We had to ask for straws. When my daughter’s food came, she didn’t get a car with her hot dog even though that was how we ordered it. And my America Burger had no pickles even though it has them on the menu. By far, the best thing I’ve tried was the Shrimp Po Boy, very large and messy but loaded with shrimp and flavor.

Our waitress was nice but she did the bare minimum as far as her job goes. It was not busy while we were there. I’m not sure why we weren’t offered refills on our drinks or why she didn’t come take the stack of food baskets we had on our table. We sat at a 2 seat table so space was limited.
The restaurant was filthy and run down. From the tables & chairs to the windowsills and floor. It all was in need of a good cleaning. I didn’t bother to use the restroom and went elsewhere after we left. I can’t say for sure but I doubt it was clean either.
We’ve been to this location several times over the past 3 years. It just keeps getting worse each time. We won’t be coming back to this location anymore.

The food quality at this location is poor especially compared to the Sneads ferry location. I could tell that the food had been cooked and reheated and the bread had water put on it and heated to try to cover up the staleness

Had a wonderful dinner here tonight when visiting Surf City. The restaurant was very busy but all the waitresses stayed professional, polite and friendly. I highly recommend the fried pickles which were so good, thin how I like them but with ridges, like Ruffles chips and nicely seasoned. Good food and prices for the beach area.

Been here several times, wait can be longish when busy. Staff are nice and polite. They do not hover over you when you’re eating. While there, some patrons who were known to staff because they were regulars. Shrimp were better than we expected. There’s a window as well but I’ve only done dine in. We’ve seen the surf city meter maids on golf carts giving tickets and checking plates for the on street parking. Free parking in the lot, don’t get a ticket!

Food was extremely dry, with no flavoring. Everything is fairly priced and the restaurant is pretty kid friendly so long as they can sit still. Anyone that isn’t a party of <4 will be broken up, as they aren't allowed to put tables together. Staff were friendly but seemed more interested in chatting with each other, drinks stayed empty for a while unless you were to wave them down and ask.
