This place needs new management or they may need to go on a shopping spree & hire a handy man. The food we ordered was ok. Hope the hamburger bun was toasted cause it was a little tuff. The ketchup we tried to use was spoiled. The fries didn’t even come hot & the burger didn’t come as we ordered it. Ask for slaw may have been a tsp of slaw on it. We asked for barbecue or honey mustard sauce didn’t have either one. We asked for a drink tray for drinks to go. No drink trays. Had to get up & get refills & extra ranch sauce(they did have)& anything else we needed. In the women’s bathroom, no toilet paper & was told if you want to lock the stall you had to stick the handle in the slot to make it work. Spent about $55 this visit. Probably won’t be back.

Check your order when you order take out. Many times our order has been wrong when I get it home. Inside the resturant needs a deep cleaning. When I went in to pick up our order, The floors, walls and ceiling are very nasty. They need to close for a week and deep clean. The ceiling maybe mold. It is black around vents in the ceiling. The employees are nice but the resturant needs some TLC.

We ordered a chicken cheese steak no peppers, lite onions with provolone cheese meal and a steak cheesesteak meal. Both cheese steaks came out with the regular yellow looking cheese. The chicken cheese steak looked like and tasted like it had all the black nasty trash off the dirty grill! Waitress asked was everything ok. I said no this is not the cheese I ordered. She said well I put it on the ticket and walked away. I tried to eat it, but it was nasty! We both got an oversized amount of tater tots couldn’t eat them all. The tea was the only thing that tasted ok. When we went to the register pay the waitress asked again how was it? We said well it had the wrong cheese and didn’t taste good. She said well that will be $26.
No I’m sorry, we will make another and make it right this time, no I’ll take a lil off the bill or nothing. She was young with an I don’t care attitude. We were the only ones in there, not like they were too busy to serve us what we ordered! I will never go back to that one in Princeton, NC. We usually go to the one in Kenly, NC. After this experience in Princeton, we will go back to Kenly where they act like they care about you and your dining experience with them! Very nasty dinner tonight, I would not recommend them at all!

First visit here and I don’t think we’ll be back. We love Hwy55’s food and custard, and we’ve always had good experiences until we came to this one.
Pros: Cool retro theme, generous portions, cleanliness, and awesome frozen custard.
Cons: Both waitresses were inattentive and had bad attitudes and long wait times. My husband had to get up several times for our items and some of our food was missing or incorrect (still tasted good though). Attached is a picture of what a small cup of frozen custard gives you, for the sake of transparency. Really?

Went here just a couple of weeks ago and me and my husband’s burgers were still slightly pink in the middle and our fries were hard. Service was good, our waitress was really friendly and stayed on top of checking on us and that was the only upside. Also someone, i’m supposing the owner, had a baby behind the counter walking around which me and my husband both agreed was entirely unprofessional and odd. We likely won’t be returning here.

I would not recommend eating here unless you like cold food with questionable looking meat. I visited this restaurant on a Sunday night where it was rather busy with only one waitress. She was working very hard, but it was clear she was stressed. The waitress remained calm, kept things going, and customer service never suffered but she deserves better. The food on the other hand was horrible. I got my order home and opened my hamburger steak with gravy and onions to find no gravy and maybe 4 slivers of onions. I lives less than 5 minutes from the restaurant and the hamburger chunks (not even a patty) were ice cold. The onion rings and bread were just piled on top of the hamburger chunks so it was all a soggy mess. I later realized there was also a hair in my plate. Next, the chicken cheesesteak. I don’t know what that meat was but it wasn’t chicken. It was just mush and something smelled off with it. The chili cheese fries were also cold and hard. Don’t spend your $28.00 here folks.

Me and my boyfriend came here for a date night. We both got a burger. I ordered a little burger which was great but, my boyfriend ordered a big one and it was still pink. All the fried sides were under cooked. Onion rings were doughy and the fried pickles were half cooked. The server was great, kept checking in on us and was on top of drink refills. Wish the food had been better but, the service was great.

I just left there. I will NEVER eat there again! If I had time on my break to go back, I would’ve took this food back! My bread was hard and the burger wasn’t fresh! I don’t know if they gave me someone burger who didn’t pick it up? This was horrible and the fries was barely cooked. Awwwful! The worst $10 I’ve ever spent ! !!! Twist me … Save your money! It’s not worth it, and I love HWY 55 but this location should be closed !

Food was average at best. Service was only fair at best. Server sat down at bar to eat while we were waiting with empty glasses. Grilled cheese sandwich for a child we ordered didn’t even have the cheese melted. When we asked about it we were told ” that’s the way we fix them”. Only attention we got from server was when we waived them down.

The food is good overall. The fries are always kind of hard and cold, but the burger and cheesesteaks are fresh and hot. The sweet tea is also very good as well as the ice cream. The service is okay, just average. The atmosphere feels very dirty. The floors are sticky and it just seems like this place does not ever get deep cleaned. It shocks me that the waitress can have her hair down since she handles food.
