We have been enjoying Hutong Sushi Grill for years! It is consistently excellent and flavorful food. We typically get sushi rolls (absolutely wonderful) the last few times my husband has gotten the salmon and loved it! This is hands down one of our favorite sushi restaurants in the Omaha metro. Our favorite rolls here are the Hotel California, Charming Giles, HuTong, and Godzilla. The service is always extremely kind and friendly! Truly a gem.

Hutong Sushi, an absolute amazing and devious dining experience. This family run restaurant is the jewel of sushi in the area. Surpassed only by being in Japan or on the coast, I declare this is the best restaurant by far. Yummy, unique, creative, pleasant, and caring of every dish. Each dish is carefully plated, great cuts, and a fantastic presentation of the cuisine. The service is also friendly, quick, and just a good experience all around. I cannot stress visiting this establishment enough!

I ordered a “Las Vegas Roll,” which apparently at Hutong means a cold, flavorless sushi roll pretending to be something it’s not. No frying, no sauce, no Vegas… just cream cheese, rice, and sadness. When I asked, they proudly said it was their version… That’s like serving a plain tortilla and calling it your version of a burrito.
Then came the Pad Thai, which was somehow even worse. Completely bland, like they boiled noodles, whispered “flavor” over the pot, and called it good. I didn’t know it was possible to make something taste less than nothing, but Hutong pulled it off.
If you’ve ever wanted to pay restaurant prices for a full existential crisis, go to Hutong. Just don’t go hungry, because you’ll leave craving literally anything else…including cardboard.

I’ve been coming here for years – originally when I was single in college, and now with my wife and kids! It’s seriously the BEST takeout sushi for an easy night of no cooking. I always order the Boston rolls because I’m basic. My wife likes the East Coast. We also do shrimp fried rice or noodles and it’s so so good. Everyone who works here is so kind and friendly. The atmosphere is also nice for a date night, and this has turned into our go-to sushi spot. Will continue coming back to support this great small business!

Very quiet restaurant. You could hear other conversations, kinda awkward. Calamari appetizer was fantastic. You could smell the cooking fuel, needs better ventilation possibly.

Quiet place, but I like that. I’ve been here twice and really enjoyed the eel rolls and Hotel California fried roll! Cool presentation and yummy food for great price! My partner and I were FULL and tipped 30-35%. WILL BE BACK

Stopped in for a late afternoon snack, pre-Supper, if you will… we were welcomed at the door, with drinks and a table right away.
The appetizers and sushi rolls were made exquisitely and tasted fantastic. We tried the Nebraska roll, with thin sliced beef and a corn slaw. Very Nebraskan and a delight.
Albeit 1 visit, but we would come back for more!

Service was quality and our to-go order was ready really quickly. Quality of the food wasn’t the highest, and while this is a lot more affordable than some other sushi places in town, it’s still a lot to spend for mediocre quality.

A couple of really easy fixes would make this a 4 star restaurant for me. 1) Play some kind of music. Eating in dead silence is just strange, especially at a sushi place where you’d expect chill music vibes.. it honestly killed the experience for me, just lacked energy in there. 2) Change your menus to reflect accurate prices. The server told the first person in our party that the menus she handed us had incorrect prices. The new prices are online, we could look there. This message was not relayed to me when I arrived, so I was surprised when everything on my bill was $3-$4 more than the list price. The menus were really dated and hard to read anyway, not sure why they wouldn’t just take the time to print accurate ones.
The service was good. The food was pretty good. I probably wouldn’t come back unless they made some changes, maybe offered a happy hour or reason to get me back in there.
