Fun atmosphere, very friendly staff! Brendan is the best server, kind, patient and helpful.
Stopped in here on my way through town and will definitely be back. All you can eat catfish specials, sides included.
The fish was juicy, the potatoes and greens were great.
Can’t wait to stop in again.

I really hate to be that guy, so I am sorry but everyone at our table had a bad experience with the food. Service was good, I felt welcome and enjoyed the environment, but that food hurt me. One of our people ordered just a catfish, which was just hard to eat; this could be on us for not knowing what to expect, but it was basically just bones with a side of meat. Another ordered the crab cakes, which just weren’t yummy, but the étouffée I ordered was sour, the crayfish were brown, and it made me super sick… I mean, SUPER sick. We tipped well, none of this was the servers fault. The Okra was also extremely dry, and felt overcooked. But I’m no cook!
Our server heaven was good, and we enjoyed the environment, but everyone left feeling gross. I hope this was just one unlucky experience, but it will likely be the last.

I went a few years ago at the old location, I didn’t enjoy it then. I just tried out the new location Sunday Aug. 17th, 2025. It was just before noon and they weren’t real busy yet. Everything was perfect. The okra was light and crispy, beans were good with fresh onion, fish filets and whole fish was crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside. I’ll be back.

We’ve been eating here for more than 10 years. Food is top notch but on Sunday 2/22/26 the floors and tables were filthy. Plenty of staff but nobody was wiping or sweeping. Tables weren’t stocked and no pies were to be had. Food was great as always but what else is headed south soon. The easiest thing is to be CLEAN.

I drove from Longview Texas to come and eat at hush puppies This was my first time since they’re moved to the new location off of Jacksonville St. I sat there 30 minutes and didn’t get my food. The waitress she was nice and reported that the cook only cook part of the food and when they made the shift change The new cook didn’t know where he was at so I was mine order either didn’t get in line to be cooked. I am very disappointed to have to come way over here and this is the results where is management didn’t see any Not sure who was the manager. I observed one female showing her stomach which to me if you’re going to work in a restaurant you don’t show your stomach that was very unprofessional. Not saying I won’t be back not saying anything right now but very very disappointed.

My parents had been telling us for a while to come here when we come into town. We we made it and we were not disappointed…that is until we realized it was their very last day to be open! Wish we could have come back to try new dishes, but it was great either way! Amazing service for our big family. The drinks in giant Mason ball jars were fantastic!

I have stopped at Hush Puppies for years when it was on 79. It moved to behind chic fil A and I could not find it for months. Finally, last week I located the new restaurant and stopped. I had catfish. It was very good, as it always was. The fries were mid, tho. BUT, I will not stop here again. The “new” restaurant is very cluttered, unorganized, thrown together, not many employees, the bathroom and tables and salt/pepper shakers were all unsanitary. Ketchup bottle was beyond nasty. Nasty place! Come on! Do better! The driveway is also a nuisance, too steep, and I scraped bottom when leaving. That really pissed me off. I hope they get it together. Until they do, adios to Hush Puppies for me. There’s too many other good places to keep going here.

Very good experience at HushPuppies. Our portions were considerable and had a great taste (the cooking oil was fresh). The fillets and shrimp were meaty and well breaded. I really liked the okra too. The gumbo was traditional. Pricing was reasonable and the service was excellent. If this review was helpful, please “like” it.
