Over 25 years ago, John and Darci Scheidt took over the Donut Hole. They started out with only a small selection of bread, donuts, muffins, and bagels that they made themselves each morning. Now, the business has expanded far beyond their dreams. Huron Mountain Bakery offers the best in baked goods. Not only do we still make those same goods from our conception, we continue to bring on new products to ensure customer satisfaction. We now have cakes, cupcakes, and sandwiches. Come try our from scratch goods; you won’t be disappointed.

Casual local bakeshop offering cakes, bagels & breads along with sandwiches & specialty coffee.

We needed a Cake, I wanted Cheddar Jalapeño Bread. Both tasks easily accomplished at the Huron Mountain Bakery. Always worth the stop, the staff is helpful and patient. There is a welcomed feeling when you walk in. Like even if you don’t know what you are aiming for the will get you set up.

Seriously though, the best Cheddar Jalapeño Bread I have even had. I’ll just stand in front of the toaster and demolish the loaf one buttered piece at a time.

Super friendly people (11 out of 10!!) and the bagel was delicious (10/10)! Also tried a sample of their pie bread that they had out which was like an apple fritter meets a sandwich bread loaf (would be great for French toast!). The blueberry scone was a little dry on top (though the inside was moist) and the glaze on the old fashioned donut was a touch soggy and the glaze made it a little too sweet, so more like an 8.5 out of 10 for both of those, but overall would definitely recommend this place!

Huron Mountain Bakery is a Marquette treasure for anyone who loves fresh, high-quality baked goods. The smell alone when you walk in is enough to make you want one of everything. Their selection is huge—fresh breads, decadent pastries, donuts, cookies, and seasonal specialties—all made with care and bursting with flavor. The donuts are light and fluffy, the bread is perfectly baked, and the pastries strike that perfect balance between rich and not overly sweet. Coffee and drinks are always fresh, making it a great stop for breakfast or a mid-day pick-me-up. The staff is warm, friendly, and quick, even when the place is busy. Prices are more than fair for the quality, and you can tell they take pride in every item. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or stocking up for the weekend, this is a must-stop in Marquette.

We got a selection of donuts, cupcakes and macaroons. The young girl working was very helpful with recommendations and patient as we’ve never been there before. Worth the stop! Reasonable prices and large selections. We’ll be back!

A fantastic bakery in Marquette.

Breads, cakes, pastries, rolls, THEY HAVE IT ALL.

Everything looked fantastic and the hardest part was deciding on what to order.

We had a croissant and 2 muffins, they were better tasting than they looked.

The service was quick and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

The coffee was underwhelming and they didn’t have any flavorings but I understand they aren’t a cafe or coffee bar.

Prices were reasonable.

Side note, the parking lot is hard to get in and out of.

Recommended!

What a gem of a spot!! I had to leave a review for their amazing sandwiches and I haven’t even tried all of their delicious pastries and doughnuts!! But these sandwiches!! We’ve stopped a few times just to grab a couple of their croissant sandwiches and take them for a picnic! They are the perfect size and each one of them is delicious in its own right!! It’s a quick meal if you’re on the road and also perfect to take to one of Marquette’s beautiful scenic spots!!

I have enjoyed Huron Mountain bread company for years. We would stop in to try all their awesome bakery.

I came in for a cup of coffee and to wait while my car was worked on. I decided to try a sandwich. They had a great variety all with Michigan-y names. The croissant I tried was perfectly fresh and flaky. Over all it had an elevated flavor combination.

I look forward to visiting again so I can try another.
