Walking in, you immediately feel the classic pub vibe. The space is big and welcoming with multiple levels, plenty of seating and tables, a full-service bar, and lots of TVs showing sports. There’s a casual, friendly atmosphere whether you’re at the bar with friends, at a table for dinner, or just grabbing a pint. The staff were welcoming and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable — they seemed to genuinely care about serving guests well.
The drink selection is strong, and the bartenders know their stuff. From pints of beer to specialty cocktails, everything we ordered was served just right. The Hot Bourbon Cider special was a standout — perfect if you’re visiting in cooler weather and want something warm and comforting in your hands.
Food at Hurley’s was satisfying and hit the spot. The menu leans toward classic pub fare and comfort food, with juicy burgers, crispy wings, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and plenty of snacks and appetizers. We tried the extra-crispy buffalo wings and they were hot, flavorful and cooked exactly as requested — a rare find for wings. Portions are generous, which is great when you’re eating after a show or with a group. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, though be aware that some guests have noted a standard 20 % gratuity is added to the bill automatically.
What I appreciated most was the lively, relaxed environment that makes Hurley’s feel like a living, breathing part of the city rather than just another tourist stop. Locals and visitors mix easily here, and it never felt stuffy or pretentious. It’s the kind of place where you can stay for a couple of drinks, enjoy your meal, and unwind without feeling rushed.
Of course, no place is perfect. Some visitors have mentioned occasional service hiccups and higher prices on receipts, so it’s worth double-checking your bill. But for the majority of guests — myself included — the experience was fun, tasty, and memorable.
Overall, Hurley’s delivers a warm, classic pub experience with solid food and drink, friendly staff, and a buzzing atmosphere. If you’re in Midtown and want a great place to relax before or after a show, this is a spot worth stopping at.
My family and I meet every year in New York to catch dinner and a show during the holidays. We wanted a quick bite before our show. Our hotel recommended Hurleys. It was a weekend and very busy. What a great experience. Our servers Alicia and Mo were so wonderful. Outgoing, fast and got us to our show on time. We enjoyed it so much that we came back after the show for dessert and we were lucky enough to see Alicia again. Good food, excellent service. She was fun, professional, and always reflecting a supreme attitude. I’d come back again just to see her.
