My partner and I came here after staying in the lodge after a day of skiing. It was a pretty busy day, so I understand that there was an hour wait and I am not faulting the restaurant for that. However, once we got seated, we ordered our food and waited an hour for just our appetizer which was a basket of wings. We waited almost another half hour for dinner to come out, I got a grilled cheese and tomato soup and my partner got a burger with fries, and the burger came with a salad instead of fries. I believe that our entrées were brought out to another table on accident and the burger that we got was supposed to go to the other table.
We tried to order our dessert early after waiting so long for our food, because we wanted our dessert to be ready by the time we were done with our food. Our server told us that it wouldn’t take long at all to get our dessert and that we could just order once we’re done, and if it did take a while, she would go back there and make it herself. However, we ended up waiting a while for our dessert anyway. We told our server to go and cancel the order, but she told us that they were already making it. Even after that, it took a few minutes for it to come out, and we didn’t even really want it anymore. Our server was Stephanie, and we sat at the bar, and she did a great job with her service and I don’t want to fault her for our experience. She was a great server and was attentive to our needs and what was in her control. It seems like this issue was with the kitchen.
The food itself was fine for the most part, other than the dry rub on our wings not sticking to the wings and just piled at the bottom of the basket. We were very excited at first for the food, but by the time we got it, we were hangry and antsy and honestly just wanted to go back to our room and rest. After all, we just came from a long day of skiing and were very hungry, tired, and just wanted a quick dinner. Had I known the wait times would be this long, we would’ve just gotten takeout somewhere. Overall disappointing experience from waiting so long and would not recommend. For the price we paid and the food we got, I could’ve gone to the store, bought all the ingredients, and cooked everything myself quicker than it took for our food to be prepared by the restaurant.

The second time staying at this place. Even better than the last. Service, food, atmosphere, top notch all around. I am intently going to seek the manager in the morning to let them know how amazing our experience was. Stephanie, our waitress at the restaurant, was exceptionally attentive and warm. Amazing!!

We had dinner here twice during our stay at the Hunter Lodge. Both times we had the pleasure of being served by Stephanie, who was warm, knowledgeable, and very patient 🙂 The first night, we ordered the smash burger and chicken sandwich, and our kids had the chicken tenders and kids hamburger. All meals were great, but the smash burger was the winner! There was also live music, which made the meal even more special. The second evening we had the fish and chips, kids mac and cheese, and the gnocchi (served pot pie style). Fries were hot and delicious both nights. Again, we were really happy with the dishes, and shout out to the team for keeping the restaurant open on a Monday (when it’s normally closed) because of the snowstorm. It made our stay that much more memorable!! Looking forward to coming back in the fall 🙂

My husband and I came here for dinner as it was near where we were staying. There were hardly any reviews with photos, so I am here to pay it forward! We both ordered the grilled cheese with crispy bacon, which came with pickles and chips. It was great! Service was quick and friendly! Minus one star bc the menu is pretty limited and the vibe isn’t anything super special compared to the other places we have dined at in the Catskills. Would still come back here, though!

Visited the tavern with some friends for dinner this weekend and we were so full with the delicious appetizers we barely made it through our entrees! The poutine is to die for and the spinach and artichoke dip with nan – delish!! Drinks were great, service was super pleasant and attentive – no complaints and we will defintely be back!

Honestly, a great restaurant that deserves to be talked about more! They have the best fries and wings I’ve had on the mountaintop, and I’m a personal fan of their spicy fried chicken sandwich, not to mention their charcuterie board, truffle fries, and spinach artichoke dip. The bartender also makes great drinks! Definitely one to check out!

I have never reviewed a restaurant, but this one deserves it. The long wait was in Christmas night, so it may not be typical. The food was outstanding, including the best spinach and artichoke dip we’ve ever had. Worth a stop.
