Finally, Patterson Lakes Has a Restaurant Worth Talking About!
It is so good to finally have a restaurant in Patterson Lakes where you can go and truly enjoy quality food. This Thai restaurant is the real deal — authentic Thai cuisine elevated to an upper-class dining experience. It is definitely not your standard Thai takeaway fare. The dishes show creativity, modern presentation, and a chef who clearly knows authentic Thai flavours inside out.
It is a small place, but the food is outstanding. Our family has already been three times, and every visit has been just as impressive. The staff are lovely and attentive, and the pricing feels fair — not cheap, not expensive, just right for what you get.
The atmosphere is modern but simple. It is a small space, so it is more about the food and the company than fancy décor — and that’s perfectly fine because the food really steals the show.
If you take the time to read the story in their menu, it all makes sense — the care, the passion, and the authenticity behind what they do.
I can only say: this place is something else.
Highly recommended. Patterson Lakes finally has a restaurant serving food with real class.
My family and I all loved the food that we had to eat here. It is very authentic to what some of them had eaten while visiting Thailand. You can see the amount of care that goes into making the food and can taste the effore that gets put into sourcing the ingredients. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is very clean and well kept. The two curries that we had (Green and Massaman) were absolutely delicious and very rich in flavour. We also had Pad See Ew which was better than any other that I have tried.
The owners of this buisness make it obvious how much they value their customers and keeping the new buisness as authentic as possible. If a customer needs something, they are very understanding and adaptable. You will come into this restaurant feeling welcome and leave already wanting to come back.
Added photos but food looks much better before it was partly eaten. Couldn’t wait to take photos before trying it
Step inside and inhale the tantalizing aromas of spices and sizzling dishes. The menu reads like“ a love letter to Thai cuisine”, each dish a tribute to street food culture.
Start with the Crispy Potato Wrapped Prawns, juicy morsels in a crunchy shell, served with zesty nhoc cham. Next up, the Prawn Cigar, delicate rolls stuffed with succulent prawns, fried to perfection.
For spice lovers, the tender Wagyu Beef rests on fresh greens, cherry tomatoes, and a zesty dressing—an exquisite balance of flavors. The Moo Ping pork skewers are charcoal grilled perfection, served with sticky rice and a tangy sauce.
Don’t miss the flaky rotis with creamy peanut sauce. Garlic enthusiasts will adore the Garlic Prawns & Snow Peas, an ode to the beloved bulb.
The King’s Massaman ❤️ features tender wagyu brisket in a rich curry, a comforting embrace on a plate. The Crab & Prawn Fried Rice is a comforting classic, while the Pad See Ew Moo offers nostalgic flat noodles with tender pork.
Finally, the Thaiger’s Barramundi Crunch is a modern twist on a classic, balancing sweet, salty, and tangy flavors. The friendly young staff enhance the warm atmosphere. Hungry Tigar isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a celebration of authentic Thai flavors. A solid 10/10 we highly recommended for anyone craving true Thai cuisine.
I went on a Thursday night without a booking and got the last free table. Place was full and had a constant stream of takeaway orders as well.
What makes this place special is the person behind the wok: Chef and owner, Prin. Her passion is immediately evident in every dish and every detail of the restaurant. When the chef is the owner, you know you’re getting personal quality control and food made with love, and that commitment shines through here.
Also tried a couple of the homemade slices, equally delicious and not over-sweet.
All praise to the Chef! I’ll be back for more!
