For my case I did take out since I was on my lunch break. I ordered the popcorn chicken bowl and was unfortunately disappointed. Maybe I got a bad batch for my meal but the chicken was extremely dry and very hard to bite into. It had no seasoning as well, I could tell after eating a few that they were either re-fried again from a previous batch or just overcooked. But they were difficult to eat after a while. For the price being $14.99 just wished that it could have been made fresh or had a bit more flavor. I did dress up the chicken with the sauces they had on the side of the restaurant by the exit, but without it the popcorn chicken pieces would have been so bland. The bowl also came with rice & some pickled radishes but even the radish was kinda dry too and didn’t have enough acidity.
I will probably come back to give this restaurant another try with another item on the menu, as I’m sure their other dishes are better than this one. But hopefully the popcorn chicken could improve so it’s more juicy and easier to bite. Would definitely have to come back and try other options in the future.
Everything I had was delicious!
•dragon fruit lemonade- refreshing and good! And it looks pretty doesn’t it
•spicy soup rice cake- with cheese & ramen & dumplings
•Korean corn dog! Cheesy and very crispy outside!
•Kim chi fried rice with egg!
Settled on the mozzarella and pepper Jack corn dogs to start. The owner showed us that the corn dog was half cheese and half dog so we wouldn’t be surprised. Also suggested we try as intended with the sugar coating. Personally, I will order without sugar next time as I like my savory food savory, but understand the appeal of savory with sweet. 4 stars.
Next up with the fried chicken wings – gloves included! Genius. All wing shops should consider it. Would save on napkins at the very least. Delish and huge! Why can’t all wing shops use these larger wings!!! 5 stars.
Finally the ramen. It was made from packaged ramen, but the owner was very clear about that (the almost too honest part). I would have noticed, but glad they were honest about it. Can’t be too mad because the price is right. They do add ingredients like Kim chi, egg and spices to kick it up and definitely hit the spot. 4.5 stars.
Going to have to try a few other dishes next time, like the katsu sandwich and curry, but definitely think this place is worth a visit.
We got an original Korean corn dog, which had a beef hot dog inside a Panko crusted exterior. The bread was chewy and had a mochi-like texture, which we enjoyed. The pork katsu had two pieces, rice, and a slaw. It’s good for two people to split. We also got an order of rice cakes, which is good for 3-4 people. We paid extra to add cheese and udon. We got medium spicy, which was decent; I think we could have gotten spicy and it would be great.
The bread was soft, the Katsu was crispy and full of flavor and most of all the coleslaw on the middle was sweet and tasty! The fries were the perfect side to it, they were cooked just right and they complimented the sandwich so well.
They also have a variety of drinks that can cater to everyone’s tastes. Even though it ordered a coke today next time I will try the tea.
Hungry Bulldog House you have got yourself another customer that will be returning hungry for more on a different day!
