We’re newer to the area and have been on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant—and Hunan Village did not disappoint! We tried several dishes and everything was absolutely delicious. We left stuffed and happy. The staff was very friendly, and it feels like a family-owned business, which we love. Priced great too. We’ll definitely be back!

The red carpeting and red table cloths are definitely unique, the room is spacious but comfortable. The service was great and the food is delicious. I had the Mongolian beef, it was very tender and tasty. I also got an order of pork egg foo yung which is the best egg foo yung that I have had in a long time and the gravy was very good, and not fatty at all. My wife had the sweet and sour chicken and she said it was very good. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best Chinese food in the area and the service is great, not to mention that the prices are very reasonable, which is hard to find these days.

Hot and sour soup was sweet and sour. The Mongolian beef was laden with cornstarch plus one one or two scallions, just plain onions and the spring roll was soft on one side.

I grew up going to Hunan Village and found myself back in the area after being away for 20 years. My fear was that the experience would not live up to the nostalgia. But the food was even better than I remembered. The General Tso chicken, spring rolls, lo mein, crab puffs and of course, the hot and sour soup. Definitively the best place in Montgomery county for Chinese food and better than anywhere I have found in Houston, Hunan style or otherwise.

The food used to be superb but it really isn’t good anymore
The seafood fried rice was horrible the tso chicken was ok but not enough chicken for the price
I have loved this place for years but I think now I will look for another Chinese restaurant
We spent 70 dollars and there wasn’t any leftovers and the shrimp toast was stone cold steve austin

The owners are professional, pleasant, and the food is the best Chinese around. The portions are huge and their special wonton soup is great.

We had a great experience here! The General Tso’s chicken stood out—it was crispy, spicy, and made with tender, high-quality chicken. The food arrived hot, portions were generous without being over the top, and everything was very flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for excellent Chinese food.

We’ve ordered several times and never gotten the correct order. The good was decent but not what we ordered and the front staff was extremely rude. The restaurant itself is cluttered, old and dirty. We won’t be going back

I have severe carrot allergy and this Chinese place use to be my go to. They always took my order serious. I noted my carrot allergy on the order and they instead mixed my fried rice in the container with the other fried rice sides — hey it happens. I saw the carrots and called hoping to get it resolved. No big deal. Just hoping some good customer service. Whoever answered the phone said “Tell me what you think is incorrect and I’ll tell you why we did it— must be your first time ordering from us. We always mix the rice sides”. That wasn’t the point. Point was I’m allergic to carrots. I proceeded to explain and the lady wouldn’t accept that I ordered plain fried rice and their mistake. I selected 3 fried rice sides, ONE without carrots. Instead they gave me 1 container for all the sides, instead of 3 side rices for each order. They couldn’t refund me either and I had to call the online website. Which wasn’t open and hasn’t answered me. Since it was $.50 I let it go. But would have expected some fried rice on the house or something. I never take time to review but given food allergies and how they couldnt help me, I wanted to share.

Had delivery but delivery was quick and efficient. Ordering was easy. They followed all directions. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 star was there was that the orange chicken was soggy instead of crunchy and the chicken (some people like it like that) and was cut way too large of pieces. Quantity was perfect. Food was all hot on delivery.
