I’ve lived near Hunan Spring for at least 5 years and it’s the Chinese restaurant we go to the most, so I thought it was time to show some love. The best part about the food is that everything is super fresh and tastes like it’s high quality. The veggies are to die for; they’re not an afterthought. They’re fresh and crispy when they should be, and never overcooked. As in, when I order a Mongolian beef, I actually partially order it for the delicious, perfectly-cooked, radiant green broccoli. The meat is also super tender and juicy, and I don’t know how they do it.

I’ve been coming to Hunan Spring once a year every time I visit my brother. That’s about six years now. The food is awesome. Large portions and very tasty. I’ve tried a few of their dishes and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly. I like the spicy stuff. Try the Four Season or Mongolian Beef. You can get a Combo Platter or try the Lunch menu. Highly recommended!

By far the best and cheapest Chinese takeout in the area. The place is small and I wouldn’t eat there, but they have everything you’d want from a Chinese place. I love their cashew chicken, wonton soup and their sweet and sour chicken. The fiance likes the lo mein and sesame chicken. They have a lunch special that goes through to Saturday which is awesome. We get this probably once or twice a month, I highly recommend it.

I have been coming here for years for a good smoothie. Their smoothies never disappoint. They are very close to the DMV so it is nice to have a small, locally owned business nearby. Also I have to note, their service is so friendly. Every time I enter, it never feels hostile. I can not wait to try more of their dishes.

This hidden gem is located on Elston avenue next to the Forest Glen Metro stop. I’ve been going to this place for many years, and I’ve never had a bad meal. The owners are a young couple that take pride in what they do and always have a smile when it comes time to pick up my takeout. Our go-to’s for dishes four seasons, happy delight, general Tso’s chicken and orange chicken. Their portions are large and their prices are very reasonable.
