It is Valentine’s s Day 2026. I have been very sick for a long time. My wife has been taking care of me for a long time so I decided to get my energy up and repay some of her love. I mustered up my energy and ignored the leg pain and told her I felt good enough to drive and will pick up our lunch for her. Now mind you, I have not driven in 3 months. After assuring her I was fine, I drive to the Hunan Legends and parked as close as I can. Heard some good things about this place. I ordered much too much for 2 people but we can eat for days as the portions were good size. It appears that today was a day of take out as I saw no one but did see a lot of pickup order.

As soon as I walked in with the cans, the owner noticed right away and without hesitation, she told her husband (I assume because he obeyed right away) that I will need help. Now I really appreciated that thoughtfulness because I did not realize I ordered 2 large bags full of food. To step in to help without being asked is thoughtfulness personified.

Now the food, we mostly enjoyed all of it. There were things that should have been eaten at the restaurant like the pu pu platter. I remember as a child we frequented a place in Towson that had a little burner that cane with the pu pu platter that was so delicious. This was not the same since it had gotten cold so not fair to judge the same. I also didn’t order any of my favorites because I have sacrificial love like that so enjoyed her meal thoroughly.

Overall, my wife enjoyed the fresh ingredients and overall taste. I also enjoyed the food but the hospitality and kindness stood out for me. Thank you Hunan Legend.

I’ve been to countless Chinese restaurants looking for good eggplant fryer, but this place is just way too too too sweet. It just tastes like sugar, and it’s not good at all. The beef and broccoli dish just tastes like broccoli the meat and the sauce don’t blend together at all. The taste is really disappointing. No more food

Our little young family is new to the area and just found this little hidden gem after our new neighbors told us this restaurant has been in business since they moved to the area over 20 years ago (and same owners apparently and even some staff they said). We can see why! There’s something to be said about a homely restaurant with just great, quality food. They even accommodated one of our guest’s gluten allergy very well.

We ordered the Shrimp Spring Rolls, Fried Dumplings (can tell they are actually handmade and not the ones that come from a bag like some places have been transitioning to recently), Spicy Tangy Wontons, Beef in Black Bean Sauce, Salt and Pepper Shrimp (these were godly), Basil Chicken, Combination Fried Rice, and House Chow Foon. Everything was delicious and wish we had more people to feed so we could order more, but we will be back to try other favorites (Singapore Rice Noodles, House Special Combination, and Stuffed Eggplant apparently!) that another customer recommended as we were both picking up our orders (there was a line to pick-up, with reason!). Will need to sit down one day because something smelled so good from the dining room while we were waiting haha.

I wish I could give them 0 service based on the service, ridiculous high price and poor quality food. These ppl had the nerve to bring me day old spoiled fried chicken wings that was refried twice. I told them I wanted a fresh batch of wings that was not sitting out or re-cooked. They then had the nerve to bring another order of the same spoiled chicken after 5 minutes from the time I spoke to them over the phone. And the lady was rude about selling me spoiled like it was my fault. They probably going to try and sell that chicken to someone else. These ppl are nasty and I will never order from them again. I called the health department on them and I do not recommend anyone buy from this restaurant as well. The 1 star would at least be for the nice delivery driver and the overpriced shrimp fried rice that was not great but ok. This is my honest unbiased review.

Came to this restaurant for lunch on a weekday during the Christmas holidays. Used to come here often when we lived in Columbia. It wasn’t too busy so we were seated quickly and the food took about 10-15 minutes to get to our table. Portions are good-sized relative to the menu prices, and the food is very tasty. Friendly staff, lots of tables and seats, and parking is free though it’s shared with other businesses and shops in the shopping plaza. General Tso’s Chicken is good and so is the House Special Chow Mein, if you like crunchy noodles. Recommended.

Friendly, fast, accurate carryout service but food is subpar. Too much sugar in each sauce. Kung Pao chicken was just chicken, peanuts and a sweet, flavorless sauce. Friend dumplings were tough and chewy. Peanut sauce on noodles still had undissolved sugar in it. We will not be back.

A carry out menu was placed in my mailbox by Door dash. I decided to check out the location and also try the food. I was surprised to see it was tucked away on the left of Giant supermarket. I certainly could have driven past it if not for Maps guiding me. I placed a phone order for Chicken Lo mein with broccoli and the Jumbo Shrimp Tempura. My food was ready and bagged for pickup. The prices are reasonable and food was appealing. I usually like my food more spicy but that’s my personal taste.

This evening, I ordered takeout for pickup and ordered egg rolls and chicken chow mein. When I got home, I opened the containers and found chicken and vegetables in a heavy sauce with a side of white rice, but no noodles. This was very different from every previous experience I’ve had ordering chicken chow mein. I called the restaurant to ask about the dish, but the woman who answered repeatedly talked over me and would not allow me to explain my concern. She insisted this is how they serve the dish and then asked if I spoke Spanish because of my last name, despite the fact that I was clearly communicating in English. Shortly after, a man from the kitchen came on the line and began speaking to me in Spanish, even though my English was perfectly fine and I had not asked for translation. At that point, the issue was no longer about the food, but about feeling dismissed, stereotyped, and not listened to. The interaction was uncomfortable and unprofessional, and I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

I’ve lived around the corner from Hunan Legend for years and feel really lucky they’re in such close proximity. The food is wonderful, huge menu, authentic flavors, can get a whole duck when the mood stricks, and fantastic at fulfilling specific adjustments and requests.

Worst Chinese food I ever had. Food was very bland and my guests food was not eatable. The chicken smelled spoiled. We complained about her meal. Instead of replacing it, they gave us $2.00 off the check. Never again.
