I have ordered from Hunan Gourmet many times and been very satisfied with the food and service but this time I was a bit disappointed. The wonton soup was no more than water seasoned with a lot of salty soy sauce! The wontons were waaay overcooked and were a soft mushy mess! On a good note, the fried chicken PIECES…no one has whole wings anymore…were very good and so was the Singapore Rice noodles dish. I’m willing to give Hunan a pass this time but do know that there are many good Chinese restaurants in Frederick and I am willing to explore.

You can always rely on Hunan to get it right. Every time I order they are friendly and respectful and each dish I’ve tried is spot on. Tonight I ordered delivery and the driver waited to make sure I got my food and was friendly. When I dug in, I was pleasantly surprised by upgraded packaging and my favorite dish (the orange chicken) was next level! Refer to the picture. Looked even better in person. I’ve only had delivery from Hunan Gourmet. Always on time and hot! Spice levels and seasoning is on point. The Singapore Mei Fun Noodles are the best I’ve had. The string beans and tofu are a hidden gem. Nice and spicy with fried tofu strips. A must try for tofu fans.

Just ordered online delivery! Hunan Gourmet is the only Chinese place I order from. I used to go to China Garden with family but since they closed I had to find a new spot I could depend on for great service and quality food. Hunan never disappoints and they always deliver in a convenient time frame. They always get my order correct and pack it in the bag with care. The food is always hot and ready to eat, I never have to reheat it like some delivery places. I got the Mu Shi chicken, pancakes, fried rice and Szechwan string beans. It is so delicious and I am so pleased that I wanted to leave a review! I have worked in the food industry for years and am getting my culinary hospitality degree and enjoy quality restaurants like this. I recommend trying Hunan Gourmet as I find it incredibly satisfying every time and they also have a huge array of veggie dishes for vegetarians and vegans!

This place has the best chinese foods in Frederick. The best sized plates for the price with the best flavor. The chicken fried rice is a must to get with each order. The egg drop soup is also a must try if you have never had it. They even come with wonton wrappers.

Expected a pleasant sit down lunch. Was not greeted , had to go to the rear to a cashier window. I told the clerk I wanted to dine in. I was given a paper menu. I repeated I wanted to eat at a table. She took my order and rang up $27. I asked if any table is ok. She replied yes.

Was looking for a Chinese Food delivery and Netflix kinda night and stumbled across Hunan Gourmet. Well, they did not disappoint…, the food was very good and very fresh – seasoned well without being salty and greasy. I ordered my go to entree which is Egg Foo Young and Shrimp Fried Rice. Been eating it for years and never understood how some restaurants couldn’t get this basic plate right. Well, this was not the case for Hunan Gourmet. I crossed my fingers after placing the delivery order hoping it would be authentic and good. They delivered fast and delivered great food! It’s just the way I remembered when I was younger eating at the best Chinese restaurants in Cleveland!
