I ate here for the first time today. I ordered the General Tso chicken combo and it was…well like that turkey on Christmas Vacation. Looked great on the outside but inside it was totally dried out. Like hollowed out, like nothing that even resembled chicken dried out. I was so hopeful because this restaurant is close to my home. Maybe this was a one off. I sure hope so.
Since writing this review 3 weeks ago I’ve spoken to a few people who have also eaten here and my experience was not a one off. Apparently, this restaurant has been serving below par food for years. Not sure how they stay in business. Avoid at all costs.

It is very annoying to call and place and order and be told 25 minutes, and then when you go to pick up the order they tell you that they are out of what you ordered. Beyond this, their kitchen was so backed up that there were easily 15 people waiting to pick up orders, and I wasn’t the only one who was frustrated. This is not the same Hunan Garden that locals knew… there is new ownership and the place is no longer recommendable.

Not the best place to get Chinese food. All the food that was ordered was extremely greasy, bland and heavily fried. It was a highly disappointing dinner. Service was meh, not very polite or appreciative of customers. Atmosphere, very out dated building, dirty, and empty boxes stacked unorganized right in the front. It was not really appealing to look at, was not a good first impression as soon as you walk into the store. You don’t go for the atmosphere, but cleanliness could be 1000 times better when picking up food. Just nasty.

Great food…don’t let the store fool you. Orders are always accurate. Food is very good and always hot. This is the closest to Philly Chinese food that you’ll find in south jersey.
They accommodate dietary requests.

The restaurant is being run by different people the food is bland I’ll never go back it was good when the older woman was there she retired, the recipe is changed with cheap ingredients it’s awful, been going there for over 8 years gotta find a new restaurant an they know it’s nasty don’t go you’ll be disappointed if you been going for years.

I don’t understand the complaints. I always got really great food here. The general tso’s tofu was always great. The wonton soup was as well. In this area specifically, this is one of the best around. I don’t know if the same person is working the cash register, but a little boy always rung me up and he was perfectly kind. While also doing his homework on the job. The whole family was always very sweet to me.
