This buffet style restaurant is under new management. When we entered the restaurant, we we’re greeted by a very pleasant young lady. We were seated, and she took our beverage order. We went up to the buffet to fill our plates. Mind you, this was 2 pm. The food was quite picked over and some of the pans were empty/nearly empty. I actually had a difficult time finding enough food I liked to fill my plate. There were no waitresses to be seen. A man who was opening boxes, sweeping the floor and clearing dirty dishes came to our table with the check. He was polite but dirty looking. I decided to skip dessert. Oh, did I mention that the food was barely warm?

Every since they have gotten rid of the old cook and gotten a new cooking the food has flavor it not plain or bland. Recommend trying them out. They have American, Chinese, Mexican food. Had there been barley soup yesterday i recommend trying it. Now there grill cheese is a grilled cheese now actually has cheese and is perfectly grilled on both sides. Not half grilled like before when I had ordered it.

Wife and I have had dinner hear at least four times now, and every time is a good meal. The fare hear is a bit unique in that, it’s American and Chinese, and, you can get breakfast all day…..my favorite part! I can’t speak to the Chinese side of it as I’ve never ordered that side of the menu, but it is pretty extensive. The breakfast it’s always good, and you won’t go hungry with their portion size….prices are pretty fair too! I would say they just about have something for everyone!

My girlfriend and I love the food here, but the way they conduct business is absolutely horrendous. Two restaurants in one building, two phone numbers, and about 8 differing closing times, depending on who you ask.

Seriously, every single posted closing time you’ll find anywhere on the web is always wrong. If you want food after 6pm, it’s a total gamble on whether they’ll be open or not. Google says 8:30, the menu says 9, the website says 9:30, it’s a totally confused mess of a restaurant that can’t seem to get even the most basic information right. Seems like they’re closed longer than they’re open. To top it off, if you call after the mysterious closing time, they’ll pick up the phone to tell you they are closed.

Everyone else seems to get this part right, even during the statewide closure of dine in eating. I don’t understand how something so simple can be overlooked. Changing your hours on Google literally takes 3 minutes.

As much as I like the food, it’s simply not worth the hassle of guessing when the restaurant is open. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere to an establishment that is interested in serving food and being straight with the public.

My sister and I have eaten here quite often. They have an extensive menu and you can choose from Chinese food, Mexican, and American. We usually opt for their Chinese menu.

I have ordered a burger here before but don’t care for them. I have also had a burrito here and it was okay. BUT, their Chinese food is yum yum!

We both LOVE their pot stickers. The only downfall is that it’s hit or miss. Sometimes they have them and sometimes they don’t. Also, sometimes they are homemade and those are the absolute best. But, if they are out or don’t have any homemade ones on hand they will serve you the yucky frozen ones. Very disappointing. Even when we have asked to make sure they have the fresh ones, and are assured they do, we’ve been served the frozen.

Their soup is also good. Chicken dumpling, Egg drop…both good choices.

The staff is friendly, food arrives pretty quickly, and the portion sizes are generous.

The restaurant itself is a little run down in my opinion. It would be nice if there was a bit of a face lift in certain areas.

The only reason for my 4 star review is because of the pot sticker issue…and that their American menu leaves a bit to be desired.

If you go, definitely try the Chinese fare 🙂

Mediocre at best. Avg price of $9 per person on our tab. I know you usually get what you pay for, however since there is another Chinese place in this town that is cheaper we expected more quality. The portions were basically good. The food was not bad, just nothing special. For example, fried rice was bland, couldn’t see any sign of egg and the rice itself was far from fluffy. (I know it will be different than white rice.) It just seemed not fresh enough or something. Crab Rangoon was okay. They were late on our pickup order. What immediately disturbed us was the location, more specifically the confusion with signage. There are two signs, and once you get there it is not clear where to go. That’s bad business. Next attempt Chinese Buffet (or whatever it’s actually called now). Also note that the 3rd Asian cuisine in Lowell is Mynt Fusion and that place is superb. Even their takeout prices are decent, especially when considering their quality.

They have a variety of food which is the one good thing about this place, but you can make better food at home. When eating food here, I honestly think that it is frozen food. There are much better options in Lowell that are reasonably priced and have quality food. I will never go back to this restaurant.

I usually am fine with this place, but the last few times a went the food was very greasy. We we’re dining in and the place smelled … Really bad, like a backed up bathroom. It’s too bad, I really like the staff and like I said, I have gone here many times without issues, but the last three have been pretty bad.

Just wanted to clear up something in a previous negative review….this restaurant does not serve a “lunch buffet”, it is strictly order off the menu. I believe that the comments refer to the other Chinese restaurant in town, and may be very accurate for that place. La te da’s/Hunan Gardens is a small locally owned restaurant serving a variety of foods. I have always been happy with the food, especially the Chinese.
