Service from the little Vietnamese lady was great. Decor here is also quite pleasant.
Food is pretty average/below-average. The beans were undercooked, the potatoes were over soy-sauced. The chicken had a weird flavor. I would probably ask for adjustments next time I’m here.

authentic Chinese food, tasted great, we ordered a chef special boiled spicy fish, the pot size is so big and we ends up only ordered 2 items for 3 persons (waitress suggestion), price is very reasonable, the owner is new and the waitress works 28 years for 5 generations of ownership, they welcomes customer with true heart.
I wish I can return but we are tourist and leaving today, feel lucky to find this.

Yikes, as far as takeout goes this was probably the worst Chinese food I’ve had since living in San Diego for over 8 years.
Egg drop soup was watered down = no flavor
Chicken fried rice had the cheapest pieces of chicken, vegetables seemed boxed or frozen, and rice = no flavor
Pepper steak was generous with the meat but the peppers were old and again = no flavor besides basic salt
Best way to describe this food; well it was edible. Not impressed.

Update to this review: The original Hunan has been sold to new owners and the name has changed to “Hometown Taste”. Went there for lunch but they only offered the dinner menu saying today (12/31) is a holiday (I thought 1/1 was the holiday). I’ll have to see if it’s the same, better, or ? when I can try the lunch menu and if the prices changed.

Our party of 6 adults had a package with appetizers, soup and 5 entrées. Four of the dishes (with chicken, shrimp or beef) looked identical, and tasted similar except for spiciness. All were good, will be going back to try other more varied entrées. The Mongolian Beef looks tempting.

Food is good but be careful when ordering. I tried to order 2 items for 7.50 each. When my wife picked it up they charged us 12.50 each and didn’t give us the sides. When my wife questioned them they said I ordered wrong but as far as I am concerned they did not clarify my order. I read it straight off their Menu. They did give us a complimentary soup. Hunan if your reading this please fix your menu so the same Item isn’t two places on your menu.
