I am skeptical of buffets, but this place made me see that some are of real quality. Food is always fresh and service is always good. Our favorites are the soup bar, fried fish, lo mein and soft serve ice cream. When we want Chinese food, this is where we go!

Great variety of Chinese food for the price they charge. If you’re hungry and love having plenty of options, this is definitely the place to go. While the sushi could be fresher and the sweet dishes have room for improvement, overall it’s a good value for money and worth trying.

Really surprisingly good. Was hungry, saw this off I10, went in, discovered it was a buffet, and I’m glad I did. It was the best buffet I’ve had since I was a kid. I will definitely go back here ot was about $18 per person including drink and there’s a small sushi bar too!!

I feel like finding Chinese Buffets is getting more and more rare but Hunan Chef has always been a staple. Soooo many options to choose from and it is all unlimited. From appetizers to dim sum to noodles to meat dishes to sushi to desserts there is just so much and it is all pretty good. The best by far is the unlimited Crab Rangoons I could literally just keep going back for those and not eat anything else.

Anyone telling you that this restaurant is clean obviously has not looked out the windows (see photos). They are so filthy that I am guessing that on the service side (inside the restaurant), they have not been cleaned in years.
Noodles stuck to the service pan because employees are too lazy to come around and stir the food. A server ran off with my water glass while I went to the buffet, and I had to chase him down to get it back. I explained to him about proper service etiquette utilizing pitchers to fill waters and ice teas in the dining room, and he kept rambling on in a somewhat argumentative way.
Food quality has gone down quite a bit over the last year or so also. I won’t return here, but if you want to settle for less than mediocre food quailty and a business which makes no appeareance that they are doing anything improve cleanliness in the restaurant, maybe this will be your new spot. At 12:30 PM, today, some of the food tasted old, which hardly seems possible unless they are mixing in old food from the day before with freshly prepared foods.

We were there about 15mins before we left. The food looked like it was reheated, chicken satay had a lingering after taste, the fountain drink had a bleach taste. The ambiance is dark and dated. Thought for sure the 4.3 star rating would have produced a better experience. Just another Chinese establishment looking to make a buck with little consideration to quality. Will not return and would not recommend. I wonder when the last time the owner sat down and samples his own food. At $21 I would have expected crab and crawfish present, sadly no. Tragic experience.

Very nice, very extensive buffet-reasonably priced.
Went with a group intending to order off the menu but when I saw the offering, there was no other choice. Nicely, displayed, moderate amounts of each entrée so they were frequently refilling with hot food. Every item clearly identified.
In addition to standard Chinese dishes, there are steamed and fried fish and vegetables; a table of salad, fresh fruit, etc; a selection of sushi; table of desserts and a soft serve ice cream machine!
Our server was conscientiously bussing our table and refilling water. Everything I had was very good-maybe not my favorite Chinese food of all time but such a nice selection that I will certainly be back.

Debbie was my waitress and she never let me glass get empty, this is what it looked like when we left. All the food was good, even the rice was exceptional for a buffet. This place gets packed and it’s been the best buffet by far that I’ve been to in Houston.
