**4.5/5 ✨ Hummus Way Santa Ana: Solid Mediterranean Bites in a Very Extra Space**

Tucked in a bustling Santa Ana plaza off Main Street, **Hummus Way** is a bright Mediterranean spot that delivers where it counts: the food and the people ❤️. The **hummus** is legitimately silky-smooth and garlicky, served warm with fluffy pita that keeps coming. The **chicken shawarma plate** was tender and well-seasoned, with flavorful rice, fresh salad, and that punchy garlic sauce on the side. Falafel was crispy outside, herbaceous inside—no grease bombs here. Portions are generous, everything tastes fresh, and the combo deals make it an easy lunch or casual dinner win.

Staff are genuinely **nice**—warm greetings, quick refills, and they’ll happily explain the menu or tweak spice levels without attitude. Service stayed attentive even during the lunch rush.

That said, it didn’t quite **stand out** in Orange County’s crowded Mediterranean scene—tasty and reliable, but nothing pushed it into “must-return-weekly” territory. The real deduction comes from the **ambiance being too much**: neon signs everywhere, super loud pop-remix music blasting, multicolored LED lights cycling like a club, and giant TVs on every wall. It feels more like a trendy fast-casual chain aiming for Instagram than a cozy eatery. Great if you want energy, overwhelming if you’re looking for a relaxed meal or conversation.

Hummus Way is still a strong 4.5 for good food and friendly vibes—perfect when you want solid shawarma without drama. I’ll be back (probably for takeout) because the plates hit the spot, but I’ll skip dining in when I want chill. Santa Ana needed this; just tone down the light show a notch.

Excellent Customer service, very helpful service as it was my first time here.
Delicious Food and is Freshly made. Ordered chicken kabob plate with rice, salad, humus and pita bread. Kids menu options available as well. Ordered kids rice & chicken kabob and side of hummus is included. Also, had one of their signature Drinks Peach Lavender that is lightly sweeten. Definitely will come back again!

A Hidden Gem in Santa Ana: Hummus Way Delivers Excellence
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars
I rarely write reviews, but Hummus Way in Santa Ana has earned every word of this one. This place is the real deal – top-notch food, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in.
The Food: Fresh, Healthy, and Absolutely Delicious
Let me start with what matters most: the food is exceptional. The kebabs were perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. The steak and chicken? Cooked to perfection – so tender they practically melted in my mouth. You can tell immediately that everything is fresh, prepared with care, and made from quality ingredients.
As someone who needs to maintain a protein-rich diet, I was thrilled with the generous portions of beautifully cut beef and chicken. Even my father, who’s notoriously picky about his food and particular about eating enough protein, was thoroughly impressed. That alone speaks volumes.
For my vegetarian friends and family, Hummus Way has you covered too. The hummus was creamy and flavorful, and the salads were fresh and vibrant – not an afterthought, but clearly prepared with the same attention to detail as everything else on the menu.
Portions That Satisfy
The servings are incredibly generous – definitely more than what’s intended for one person. Unless you’re a big guy like me, you’ll likely be taking home leftovers (which is a bonus, because you’ll get to enjoy this amazing food twice!). But whether you finish it all or save some for later, you’ll leave feeling well-fed, satisfied, and happy you came.
Service That Makes You Feel at Home
Here’s where Hummus Way truly shines: Chef David and Manager Carlos are the kind of friendly, welcoming faces that turn a good restaurant into a great one. Their hospitality is genuine, and you can tell their number one goal is making sure every customer leaves satisfied with a great meal. They’ve created a warm, family atmosphere that’s becoming rare these days.
Outstanding Value
For the quality you’re getting – fresh, healthy, expertly prepared food – the prices are more than reasonable. You’re getting restaurant-quality cuisine without the inflated price tag. It’s honest, fair pricing for honest, exceptional food.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a place where you’ll enjoy a healthy, satisfying meal at a reasonable price, served by people who genuinely care about your experience, Hummus Way is your answer. This is the kind of restaurant I’ll be bringing my family to regularly and telling all my friends about.
Whether you’re a meat lover needing quality protein, a vegetarian seeking delicious plant-based options, or just someone who appreciates great food and great people, Hummus Way delivers on every level.
Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back!

10 out of 10. Definitely recommend the chicken kabob plate. Fresh, and delicious. Rice was on point, chicken juicy, tender and perfectly marinated. Pita bread was soft. Hummus had a great taste. Salad had a perfect vinagrette flavor. Peach/lavender drink was light on sugar but great in taste.

By the time I decided to leave this review, the dishes were already halfway finished, which is why the photo doesn’t show the full presentation . That said, the food was very delicious and full of great flavor.

The portions are standard, but everything was well prepared and very tasty. The staff was extremely kind and friendly, and the place itself is nice and welcoming.

Overall, a great experience and definitely a place we’d come back to.

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing portions. I think what needs to improve is confusion on how to order. Luckily the person there help to take our orders. I had a bowl with rice, salad, then I’m not sure what the person behind the counter said but I had an order of lamb that was over rice. Then I have options of hummus, garlic sauce, and then I asked for my dish to be spicy and it sure was. This place is like a Mediterranean Chipotle. It’s good and the 5/5 starts is deserving but it not quick perfect. I just know what I am one and done here.

being open for 2 years ain’t nothing to shake a stick at in these thin margin times for restaurants. not sure why all the blue interior, but really dont care if the food is good. Simple fare with some nice fillings and cold table with sauces. These guys know what they are doing.

Kitchen and front of house was clean. Had the wrap as i am not a huge fan of rice, was good. The falafel was made to order, as it should, and portions were adequate for $16.

not sure why there is no pita menu item (just a wrap), would be a no brainer – the warp was just a whole wheat burrito sized tortilla which is ok.. but not great. will try a skewer dish next time as its very popular from what I can tell.

We stopped by here when one our “regular” places had a 45 minute wait. We thought let’s try something new and now we have a new “regular”place ! The place is absolutely spotless. The kitchen is within sight of the dining area and it too, is spotless.

We started out with the humus appetizer. We got the regular humus and the grilled eggplant humus. Both were delicious and served with pita bread.

We both had the chicken kabob plates and they were just perfect. Grilled vegetables, rice and a salad made the plate an absolute pleasure to devour!!

Go and enjoy some great food and support this locally owned family restaurant !!

Ordered a tumeric lemon pepper chicken bowl and a lamb skewer plate and they were both so good! The quality and flavors are just a step better and more interesting than other places, and they had fun flavors of lemonade like lavender mint. The lamps inside were so pretty. Will come again!
