Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
Also chef explained about the food in detail and he knows sake pretty well!
Glad i could learn more about sake.
It was really nice to ask him about drink recommendations based on my taste.
Many different experiences to be had with every bite, with each as memorable as the next. Would highly recommend all to sit for at least one dinner for each of the Chef’s Chapter menus.
Pro:
1) Fish is pretty fresh. My partner did get a little stomach upset after but I did not. We got the tuna avocado roll, scallop sashimi, premium seasonal fish platter, and deep fried soft shell crabs.
2) Staff is friendly.
Cons:
1) While fish is fresh, quality is not on par with other high end sushi restaurants in the same tier. My partner spent $370 for two people and still left hungry. The pieces are smaller than usual.
2) Wine list is terrible and the pours are skimpy. Forget about celebrating any special occasions here. The waitress poured the remainder of a bottle and it was definitely not a standard 5 oz pour. More like 2.5 oz. She measured the second glass correctly though.
3) Ambiance is not nice for the high prices. I celebrated my birthday here. While it’s okay for a neighborhood sushi spot, it is not somewhere you want to celebrate an occasion. The floors are SO sticky throughout the entire restaurant. There don’t offer any desserts on the menu other than crème brûlée and macarons I believe. No cake so I went without birthday cake.
4) Parking is a disaster if there is an event at Climate Pledge Arena. We looked for 40 mins.
Overall, for the same price, I’d go back to Kashiba or Shiro’s any day of the week. Higher quality fish, better ingredients, better ambiance, better service. This is okay for a neighborhood sushi spot but most definitely not the elevated dining experience that they advertise.
Had such a great meal here! The yuzu scallops were hands-down my favorite — so flavorful and super fun served on the salt block. Everything we ordered was tasty, but those scallops were next-level.
The staff were all really friendly and attentive — you can tell they care about their guests. They even brought us free soup just because, which was such a sweet surprise.
Overall, awesome food, great vibes, and genuinely nice people. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The hospitality, chef Ji, his wife, and a long time sous chef really makes a special occasion worth celebrating! This was a mix of sashimi/nigiri and other fusion blends of Japanese food. A few really innovative unique dishes that really hit, like an extra free course of squash soup with oyster butter toast.
The extra courses is why it’s called 18+. I think it might have been about 23 total (not including personal bonus courses). I personally am a big back and I could still eat while the other guests were too full, so chef Ji kept slanging additional nigiris at me, which were just as good if not some better than the normal courses. Highly recommend, and I personally think it’s a touch over priced but very worth a special occasion.
If it was ~$30-40 less, it’s worthy of frequent repeats.
If you love quality food, just go. I’m already craving round two
Highly Recommend-> Omakase 10+
Overall a great experience, highly recommend!
