Stopped by Humboldt Bay Provisions while exploring Old Town Eureka and had a great experience. The oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and you can really taste the local quality. We tried a few small plates along with a cheese board, and everything paired perfectly with the local cider on tap.

The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and it is clear they take pride in supporting local farms and businesses. It is a relaxed spot that feels authentic to the area. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the freshness and overall experience make it worth it. Definitely a place I would return to for oysters and drinks.

Our waiter was super nice and explained all the details of the store front for Humboldt bay Oyster Farm. The sauces were great and we are a raw oyster lovers. The historical building is beautiful. Definitely a must visit!

We were passing through Eureka, returning from the northern edges of the state. We found Humboldt Bay Provisions in an Internet search. The menu looked good and had various items including non-oyster options. We found the restaurant in downtown Eureka and, despite it being a Saturday evening, we had no problem parking on the same block.

The restaurant appears to be fairly new with a warm interior decor. There are several tables where multiple parties can sit. The host met us, gave us a menu and explained that the oysters they served were harvested by his coworker, who was running the kitchen, the previous day. They also source other local supply when their own can’t meet demand. “These will be the freshest oysters you’ve ever had!” He told us that coming up to the counter to order would probably be quicker as he and another gentleman were the only two there. Both guys were very friendly! Despite being a Saturday evening, we were able to grab an empty table with no wait.

We were disappointed to discover that what we found online about there being options other than oysters was not accurate. That was fine by me as I was planning to get broiled oysters (you can also get them raw), but my wife is not as into oysters as I am and was planning on other choices. I ordered a dozen broiled oysters, six with pesto sauce and six with Old Bay. I split a hummus plate with my wife. I expected to like the Old Bay sauce better, but I actually preferred the pesto. The oysters were delicious and juicy, presented on the half shell on a bed of rock salt. A great meal that was enough to fill (though I could have probably had another half dozen for good measure).

Had a quick stop for a cold beer and snack . Infortunatley all they were offering was oysters for some reason . Nothing else from there menu

Service – once they started it got better. Slow out of the gate . Cook wa seating. Behind bar , not very hygienic
Beer- cold ,refreshing and tasty for a in house craft beer. Limited selection
Oysters – super fresh plump and juicy and our server shocked them perfectly . A wise assorted of sauces well done

Verdict – give it a second chance of they have more food offerings , I’ll be back

Stopped by this oyster bar in Old Town Eureka and had a really enjoyable visit. The Bucksport oysters were fresh and flavorful, both raw and broiled, and clearly sourced with care. We also shared a local cheese and charcuterie board, which was perfect for grazing. The drink selection stood out too, with a nice variety of local beer, wine, cider, and kombucha on tap.

Stopping in Hereford a late lunch was absolutely amazing. The oysters are top notch and I gobbled them down quickly. The guys working were full of fascinating information. I also left with a bottle of local win I’m just dying to try out. I recommend stopping in here!

Two dozen locally grown oysters with a choice of 8+ different sauces for <$30.

Large indoor seating area, tables outside as well.

Our only disappointment was missing out on our favorite cider because it was on the menu but not on tap.

I stopped in early on a Saturday evening. I was the only customer at first but it rapidly got busy. When it was slow the staff was very friendly and chatty.

On their suggestion I tried a cheese plate with Humboldt Fog paired with blueberries. What an awesome pairing. The cheese is like a mild Bleu and very tasty.

Then I had a half dozen oysters, which are locally grown. They were delicious so I had to have another half dozen.

Another suggestion was a local Pinot Noir, which went well with the cheese and oysters.

Overall great experience, glad I stopped by while passing through town.
